- LAST GTX 980TI - Jamie, 13 July 2017
The latest GPU shortage due to the mining craze has been a bother. Was on the prowl for a GTX 1070 when lo and behold thaar be a GTX 980ti on special, but not just any 980ti, but a HOF balls to the wall GPU.
I must really say this is a wonderful card, its faster than a 1070 and more sexy too if I'm honest.
The Nostalgia of an old grandpa of the PC world still slapping games around is wonderful.
I love the card, its a beast, and I'm so chuffed to have one.
Thx Wootware for begging, borrowing or stealing GPUs to keep us happy in these tough dry times :D
- A product that impresses by design as it offers great performance at quiet noise levels. - Yusuf, 23 March 2016
It may not be that affordable but it is 100% worth the money. Not only is it a gorgeous card it also takes it away with its spectacular game rendering performance at low noise levels. it comes at a 6 GB frame buffer, where as the 980 has 4 GB. It is factory over clocked as well. So definitely worth looking into and worth every penny.
Everything runs at a stable frame rate and I have been using this card for about 4 months now and have absolutely no complaints.
System:
i7 6700k
corsair h100i gtx
asus maximus viii gene
ripjaws v 16gb 2666mhz

CM 750W psu - Watch out for Coil Whine - Stuart, 23 November 2015
Running certain games, caused the card to squeal like a little pig.
At first I thought something was wrong with the card, but after some research I found out it is a phenomenon associated with electronics running on high speeds and is something that can not be changed.
Playing games like Dota 2, The Vanashing of Ethan Carter and Undertale for eg, did not cause high frequencies on an irritable scale.
But unlimited fps games like osu! (without background video) which normally runs on 1000+ fps cause significant coil whine, which I could hear through my closed headphones. My previous card, HD5670, did not squeal like this and also ran on 1000+ fps.
I don't know if it is just the HOF that does this, or if it is a general 980 ti thing, but just be noted of it...
- HOF GTX 980ti - Riyaaz , 30 October 2015
The most impressive thing however is how quiet the card is, you need to weigh in the overclock and the sheer size of the GPU before you realize that this noise level is quite remarkable. Nothing but props from me for that, very nice.
The Stock Settings Overclocked
Core Clock: 1,190 MHz Core Clock 1,265 MHz
Boost Clock: 1,291 MHz Boost Clock: 1,429~1,493 MHz

- Galax 980 Ti HOF Performs Well - Mark, 27 August 2015
Recently upgraded my old XFX GT285 - must say, was quite happy with the old card, but hey, got to upgrade sometime. Looked around and found this card on Wootware for what seemed a great price.
This is one large card, quite a bit larger than my old GTX285. Impressive looks as well. Overclocked to the following: GPU clock = 1220; BOOST = 1321; MEM 2003mhz
As can be seen, did not overclock by much from base clock of 1190. After installing the card just ran 3dMark on the following:
Fire Strike - 17035 - max temp - temp 65c
Fire Strike extreme - 9095 - temp 66c
Fire Strike Ultra - 4790 - temp 71c
Card runs quiet
My system:
G1.Sniper Z97
4790K @ 4.8Ghz; voltage @ 1.284v
16gig DDR3 Corsair @ 2133 XMP
Corsair RM1000 PSU - Corsair link works great
Seagate 2TB Hybrid; +Seagate 500gb HD
Blue Ray drive, DVD/RW drive etc...
Windows 10 Pro 10240 RTM
NVidia CC Global settings : - completely uninstalled previous driver using DDU from guru3d and then did fresh install before running any benches
NVidia driver 355.60 - default driver settings
Have not tried any games as yet, but sure the card will do ok.
- Very Impressive! - Basson, 11 August 2015
Very Impressive!
The Galax 980 Ti HOF is one impressive piece of hardware. I recently retired a pair of Sapphire HD 4870 cards for the HOF and the difference is mind blowing. I have always dreamed of having the best when it comes to computer components and the Galax (KFA2) is definitely one of the top tier brands. Being known for their hand picked GPU's I could not settle for less. My Order was super fast to Oudtshoorn, Item left cape town on 2015-07-22 17:40 and was in my hands 2015-07-23 08:22 FedEx. The card was very well packaged and with it I received a stylish t-shirt.
The HOF is a big boy and is little on the heavy side (slight sagging at the tail but nothing to worry about) the massive heat sink keeps the core well below 65 C' under full load with a average fan speed at 53% which is dead quiet (my room temp is around 22C'). It boosts to 1392Mhz right out of the box (1291mhz advertised) with memory clock at 3505Mhz. There is a interesting super charge button on the back which I have not yet tried. The Card I got has a ASIC Quality rating of 69.4% (although the relevance of the scoring and the scientific measurement is still heavily debated - GPU-Z).
First game I installed was Crysis 3 as I personally consider Crysis as a tool rather than a game (though I have enjoyed it as a game very much) With all settings on Max (MSAA anti aliasing x8 with v-sync 1080p) I experienced smooth game play with shuttering and and frame rate drop below 30fps being very rare. Using 3dmarks fire strike I scored 7820 on extreme setting. I have enjoyed a few games all on max graphics settings without any hiccups. currently paying Far cry 4.Wootware.co.za service was as always top notch with the best prices! They are my first and only stop when shopping for pc parts. #wootwoot :D
