- Settled but happy - Jurgens, 25 April 2018
I had to settle for this card as the one I wanted "GTX 1080 Ti AMP Extreme" wasn't in stock.....thanks cryptominers... anyway, I got this one and the boost clocks seem to push it almost to the same performance levels as the Extreme Amp. The average temps are between 38 - 43 idle and peaking at 78 to 82 with fan speed at 65%.
Maxing out Pubg, Crysis 1 - 3, Vermintide 2, The witcher 1 - 3 and getting buttery smooth frame-rates. - VALUE FOR MONEY!!! - Kptcaprivi, 11 May 2017
I received this card all the way from Cape Town to Joburg within 20 hours of making my payment. Used the Fed-Ex service. Thanks Wootware for the awesome service!
NOTE: Just check the size of your motherboard and make sure you have enough space to fit it. I had to move my hard drives around to fit this massive card. Don't think the Amp! Extreme would have fitted into my box, hehe.
The card itself is amazing!!! Downloaded Wildlands and OC'd the card to 1860 MHz (+177 MHz on base clock) without touching the voltage! Now playing Wildlands @ 3440x1440 resolution and getting 64 fps avg on Ultra Quality with a minimum of 42 fps in the busy areas. Card still has some juice left if I up the voltage, but it is not necessary, because I my old CPU is creating a bottleneck anyways, hehe. So guess whats next on the list for my upgrade...
Love the card and the design and I never hear the fans. Temps are high but stable. If I manually set the fans to 70% speed, the card cools down to about 50-55 deg C, but then the fans become audible. Leaving it on auto slows down the fans, so I think Zotac opted for less audible fans instead of dropping the temps. Would love to compare the GALAX EXOC card to this one, but the price vs performance is great for this specific card especially if you are gaming on Ultra-wide 1440p. Agree With STARBOUND on the first comment, it really is the best priced 1080ti for performance above reference.
Thanks Wootware for Stocking Zotac and Galax! - Great performance for a 2 slot card - StarBound, 27 April 2017
Currently the best priced 1080ti with performance above reference. Out of the box I've seen the card self boost up to 1999mhz but you can expect it to boost around 1920mhz most of the time in a well ventilated case. While the card shows a general performance increase of around 30% my preferred benchmarking spot for Rise of the Tomb Raider increased from 50fps (1080) to 75fps (1080ti). Crysis 3 however made the card hit its thermal limit of 83C. I still managed to get between 80-90fps average but my clock speed fell to 1880mhz.
I would recommend this card to anyone but if you want to stay a bit more under the thermal limit you might want to look at the 2.5/3 slot cooler solutions.
