- The best 1070 I got my hands on - Francois, 10 October 2017
This card is an absolute monster, literally! It measures up to 320mm in length, make sure to get an ATX case which can take even bigger motherboards to fit in this graphics card.
With the size, you get a beast of a cooler on the card, and in my case, it cools the card exceptionally cool. The fans turn off below 60 degrees celcius, making the card virtually silent and when on full load it will not get above 70 degrees celcius and the fans are inaudible at less than 50% speed.
With the cooling capabilities, the card auto overclock itself up to 2000Mhz in my case and can keep that speed indefinitely. This card is not a mistake and it is worth the money all the way.
The only complaint I have is the card is heavy and will sag a bit more than other cards. I attached some straps around the connectors to prevent the card from lowering too much. - It is not perfect but for out of the box experience it is one of the best - Eugene N, 21 September 2016
This card has the biggest and best cooler from anything else on the market, it does a fantastic job in regards to temps with my max load temps being 52 degrees on the default fan curve during gaming loads and 47 degrees with fans cranked to 100% during benchmarks. There are some issues with this card though, The massive cooler while doing a great job is very heavy and you may encounter gpu sag however I did not so your mileage may vary on that. The fan stop tech is nice but create a fan on-off revving cycle which you cannot fix using firestorm, which leads to my next complaint the firestorm app is really poorly designed and seems half baked when compared to MSI's afterburner or EVGA's precision XOC. I was able to fix the fan revving with the latter by making a custom curve. Now onto my biggest issue, it does hit high clocks out of the box but don't expect it to go much more, these chips are not binned so your OC potential will vary greatly, that being said after the latest driver update I did get it bench stable at 2100 mhz but literally by the skin of its teeth and it is game stable between 2020-2030 mhz. My boost clock out the box was 2000mhz but it will volt limit down to 1987 mhz, if you increase power, temp and volt targets it will sit at 2012 mhz without a problem.
To summarise:
Pros
Excellent cooling
Excellent build quality
Silent under gaming loads
Price due to it being imported directly by Wootware
Wootware service (Legendary as always)
5 year extended warranty (you get 2 extra years by registering on the website, although Wootware only cover first 3 other 2 you have to RMA with Zotac directly)
Cons
Don't expect it to break any OC records, it may be called extreme but your OC will vary according to silicon lottery these chips aren't binned
The firestorm app needs a major update
It's quite heavy and might need extra support.
The yellow stripes on the back plate can be a problem for colour themes, I have bright case LED's which mask it.
Fans stop technology needs custom curve to prevent constant revving up and down, which can be done only with Afterburner or precision XOC
I'm going to give it 4 stars since 3.5 isn't available, it is not perfect but for out of the box experience it is one of the best
