- not great...but ok. - Thomas, 21 June 2023
The build quality feels sturdy, the latch opens easily and closes tightly, without feeling loose as though it would open when in your pocket or in a bag.
Unfortunately the cover over the usb connector is a very loose and flimsy silicone flap. A slight touch and the usb is uncovered. It doesn't fit tight or snug in its place when not in use. This I think might be a problem for someone that needs a water resistant enclosure. I don't agree with the IP54 rating on this device due to the usb silicone flap. The usb flap is also flimsy enough that it will break off after a relatively short time of use in my opinion.
Adding a drive to the enclosure is easy enough, however removing it, is a pain. It requires small fingers or a tool just to lift the drive so it can be taken out. So I don't consider this a tool-less device, as I needed it to add/remove multiple drives, then again a dock is better suited for that purpose.
When opening the enclosure, it only opens 90 degrees. I would have preferred that it opens more than 90 degrees.
Overall it's ok, it works, I still use mine. The usb flap cover and the pain in removing a drive is what I really don't like about it.
