- Great motherboard with a major flaw. - Arthur, 3 June 2021
This is a great ITX motherboard with handy standard ASUS ROG features such as PWM/DC fan headers, plenty USB ports.
Unfortunately, the greatest drawback is the chipset cooling. I run an extremely hot nvme ssd, WD SN850 2TB, and coupled with a pcie 4.0 graphics card, 5800x, the chipset heatsink is just unable to deal with the heat. The poorly designed fan runs at a massive 10 000 RPM, 10k! at peak load while gaming with the chipset hitting 97 Celsius.
Only way I managed to drop the temperature and noise of the fan is by placing a 120mm fan next to the motherboard to blow air over the heatsink structure.
