- An Inexpensive, but Highly Worthwhile Purchase - Marco, 14 November 2018
I'm using an i7 8700 in a mini-ITX build, and because low-profile coolers are difficult to find for my compact configuration, the stock cooler remained my best bet. This CoolerMaster fan is far quieter when compared to the stock cooler, especially when fan speed reaches 100%.
Additionally, I've noted an improvement of up to 5 degrees Celsius on idle, but almost no improvement under load. Specifically, my CPU cores idle between 35 and 40, and under load it varies between 60 and 70. While this cooler doesn't appear to provide much improvement in terms of temperature in my build, the significant noise reduction was well worth it.
Recommended! - Great budget cooler. Very quiet and not CPU is not hot. - Gabor, 19 January 2018
I have picked this cooler for a 8600K CPU since it does not come with a cooler. I was weary about noise and performance, but was very pleasantly surprised. Bought this as a trial and error, that Ill get a better one if necessary. Most K CPUs are already at a higher GHz and we are not planning to overclock this CPU at all. At stock speeds this fan managed to keep the CPU in the low 60s under load. Idle it was about 35-40C which is good. The noise levels are amazingly low, I practically cant hear my PC under the desk. In contrast to my other case where I put the top of the range Master Air maker 8 cooler which brags about quietness I can really hear that setup under my desk... I highly recommend this cooler.
- No-brainer upgrade from stock - Anton, 22 November 2016
If you don't overclock and just want something cooler and quieter than the stock cooler I can highly recommend this. Especially for the price. It uses the same mechanism as the stock cooler so installation is a breeze. Honestly I didn't know the stock cooler was that noisy. This is whisper quiet. My cpu now runs about 5-8 degrees cooler under load, but honestly this is well worth it just for the noise reduction.
