The P4317Q is an exceptional monitor.

The picture quality and colour reproduction is fantastic. Text is crisp and readable (even better than on an HD (1920 x 1080) monitor). The wide viewing angles , characteristic of IPS panels, means that the screen does not suffer from the irritating colour changes which plagues normal monitors when viewed from an angle. I have seen no indication of image retention. Response time is quite acceptable for normal use, games included. If you are a passionate gamer, your opinion may differ, in which case, get a specialised gaming monitor.

With 4K resolution and 43" size , it provides the screen real estate that makes it perfect for high productivity applications where require multiple simultaneous open windows eg. a programming IDE, photo and video editing or enterprise IT support. (I regularly have between 20 and 30 open windows to various systems and applications). If you happen to be a word smith, its quite practical to view 10 pages in a word document on a single screen.

Let's address some common concerns:
Size.
=> No its not too big. If you're used to a 2 monitor setup , you will actually save desktop space by switching to a 43" monitor.

The pixels will be too grainy
=> Bull***t. A 24" HD monitor (1920 x 1080) has a pixel density (dpi) of 91 pixels per inch. A 43" 4K monitor (3840 2160) has a pixel density of 102 pixels per inch. Your resolution will in fact, be better.

You cannot see the entire screen at a glance . You have to move your head to see everything
=> True. But the same is valid for any 2 or 3 monitor system . Considering that a single 43" monitor requires less space than a 2 monitor setup, you will require less movement to see the whole screen.

You have to sit further away from the screen
=> In my experience , you will use it at the same distance as a normal 24" or 27" monitor, depending on the application. For games and videos you may want to move back a few inches , but for text-based applications, the standard desk space should be fine.
