- Sounds as good as it looks - ShadowR, 3 March 2022
Great sounding dac. No drivers needed you simply set the Speakers (GSX 1200 Pro Main Audio) as your defailt in playback settings and you are good to go. I have had sound cards from Asus and Creative in my PC in the past and this pairs the best with a GSP 600 / 500 headset.
One reviewer here claims this is only 16bit 48khz. That is incorrect. This device supports 24bit 96khz, you just need to set it in windows sound settings. I think what the other user experienced is that you can't run 24bit 96khz in 7.1 mode, only in 2.0 mode which i prefer anyway.
The 7.1 implementation is the best i've ever heard though so well done to Sennheiser. - Excellent - Youtube Trash, 8 May 2020
Ok so it's honestly great, it's clean looking, it sounds clean and powerful enough for any gaming oriented peripherals.
surround sound is interesting, it can be a bit meh at times but it does feel really nice at times and can be entertaining, quick equalization settings of which I only use the music mode XD and it works great with my speakers as well, I love being able to switch between speakers and headphones on the fly and the volume wheel is so convenient for when you're in game, love all the other options and settings it has and you know what it's so small and light it's never in the way, it's great, so much better than my onboard sound that you cannot even compare, if you're just looking for great sound and a powerful amp then you're wasting your time but if the looks and features intrigue you then go for it, it's all in good fun, using it with my GSP 500's and it works great, I mean without it I have like no volume on those headphones even though they're just 28 ohms XD - Better than a sound card! - Lee, 4 March 2020
This is an excellent piece of hardware for gaming.
Sound quality is top shelf. This is the best directional sound engine I've heard, even beats the soundblaster series ccms IMHO.
Does not need any drivers or software and your profiles (features setup and selected) are saved on the device so will be the same no matter which device you plug it in to.
Just be mindful however, that this does not have a powerful output driver, so I wouldn't recommend headphones above 50Ohms if want a loud experience.
Otherwise i would recommend this to any gamer 100%
- Audio Techs should likely look elsewhere as you do NOT get 24hit 96khz, this is purely 16bit 48khz.
