- So much money, but so much power. - Stephan, 4 July 2016
Yes, R13k is a lot of money. Wouldn't argue with you there. But being able to play The Witcher 3 at 1880p (yes you read that right) at 70+fps with every setting at max is damn near amazing. I OC'd both the memory and core clock by 150Mhz by simply flipping a switch and changing to a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner. As a result the card operates at "worst" at 72 degrees Celsius with the fan at 72% (still not that loud). No thermal throttling. The only way you would get throttled is if you don't use a custom fan curve. Some reviewers/Youtubers leave their fan speed at 50% which is not sufficient.
I was scared my CPU (Core i5 3570k @ 4.2Ghz) would bottleneck the GPU, but I have compared my 'numbers' with others on the internet and the difference is negligible. Phew.
Buying the FE sounds stupid on paper, but the EVGA version costs cheaper than all but one of the AIB Cards.
Thanks Wootware. You guys rock! - Excellent Card worth the bucks - Oujisan2236, 25 June 2016
So every time I get a new card in the passed I buy average cards (FX5600 , GT9500m, GTX650 1gb of) this time when I heard about Pascal late 2015 when thinking of a GTX 970 I decided to wait for this one. FE edition doesn't bother me I'm not a OC kind of person but in all honesty this card kicks ass. Had a GTX 650 and it was slowly getting time for those new AAA titles to run and I wanted to run 4K on my 49inch. Doom locked at 60fps (monitor is doing that but bioshock 329fps) solid no issues. No loud noises. The card even glows green. One thing to note it's really massive card you may want to measure from your case first it barley fits its off by 1mm from my HDD.
Performance is great.
EVGA support seems solid 3 year warranty and optional 4 to 5 year extended warranty from evga 25€ once off.
In box everything needed even the 8pin power connector which I needed.
My i5 3470 and 12gb ddr3 ram and this card is killing it. I could of gone with GTX 970 but why not get the GTX 1080 faster than Titan x and cheaper. Cheaper than 2X GTX 980ti on as well so again well worth the bucks spent.
8gb is more than enough.
Anyway you can check my YouTube in progress of what's it doing.
