- Great but not perfect (well for me) - Lean, 24 March 2016
I had to buy a new mobo as my Asus M597A PRO (2011 board) died on me after almost 4 years (mostly due to human error).
Good mobo packed with features, but not as good overclocker as the asus board due to lower quality MOSFET. vDroop is not as bad but enough to be inconsistent at times, especially that no LLC control is present in the UEFI/BIOS.
I have a FX 6300 with a 212 evo OC'ed to 4.5GHz, on the asus board I needed 1.425v on the vCore. With the MSI board I need about 1.444 -1.1448.
The SLI is an amazing feature on a 970 chipset board and I can confirm this works perfectly :). (Tested with SLI 960's). I also think the audio is great, but that could just be using my laptop's sound card with my headset for a few months.
All in all I am happy with this board and would suit me fine until I one day in the next 2 years upgrade to Zen.
