- Good, Albeit Troubled, Board - James, 23 April 2021
It's a good board as far as MSI products go. It does have a few shortcomings.
CONS: The main nuisance is the laggy post. I've never had a board take so long to post. The proximity of the CPU socket to large heatsink at the top makes installing non-screw-on (clip on) CPU coolers a nuisance. The onboard firmware is a very messy GUI. Honestly, it's hard to find where some settings are. Luckily it has a search function. The GUI isn't 100% keyboard-only useable either, even though it should be 100% accessible from the keyboard alone and the mouse pointer should just be a bonus. It's easier to use in "Expert Mode", too, ironically. Also, you can only do a CMOS reset with the onboard pins (or by removing the battery, lol), which is difficult because of their location, which is just below the primary video card. If you had 2 cards, you wouldn't be able to reach it. For an X570 board, I would've liked a button (maybe next to the BIOS FLash button). A note to Linux users: the onboard sound gives you quite a bit of hassle and creating a monitor or loopback device for the analogue out seems impossible. You may also have to manually set the soundcard indexes, especially when using programs that normally try to access physical hardware instead of doing it through a sound server (looking at you, audacity).
PROS: Cheap. When I bought it, it was only 3k, but that was 2019 when the world was still normal. It's still well priced by today's mental standards. It hasn't given me any problems but the aforementioned. It's also future-proof with (back then) promised BIOS updates to accommodate future Ryzen CPUs. Being a full ATX board, no matter the somewhat-less-than-perfect layout (which seems to be today's norm anyway), it gives you more breathing space for add-ons and obviously better ventilation. Finally, has very comprehensive selection of settings for OC'ing CPU and RAM if you're trying to squeeze out some extra FPS -- though I'd expect that from an X570 board. - This board should not be purchased - Salomon, 1 January 2021
I have had this board for a few months and run a 3700x on the board and have not had much issues so I was happy. This was until I realised I cannot upgrade with this board and would need to buy a new one as the MSI board when running heavy loads on flagship 3900/AM4 CPUs will have the VRM overheating to over 100 degrees. With the board over heating the core speed gets reduced to limit damage to board. Which makes using this board for the latest AM4 chips and 3900x CPUs unusable. This data was released in February before I got this board and yet the item is still sold as a high end board. I understand it's my problem for missing this data but there should be a warning on the product description that you cannot use more than 65watt CPUs and if you do you should pick another brand.

- Perfect for my needs! - Wesley, 7 July 2020
I wanted a minimum of 2 M.2 slots and that's what this has. I wanted a decent looking board that wouldn't have too much colour and drama but still looks premium enough to put a Thicc III Ultra 5700 XT on and it certainly does that too. BIOS is easy and the EZ Diagnostic LEDS actually came to good use on this board as I had one faulty stick of RAM - a DOA part. So thankfully I didn't need to do too much before I realised why the system wasn't POSTing. Great board - I wouldn't overclock a CPU on it though - in SA we have a hot climate and this board has terrible VRM heat dissipation. As always - do your homework! I think it's perfect for what I need though!
- I was screwed - Jamie, 7 May 2020
On upgrading my PCs motherboard I discovered that the OEM had used a non-modular PSU without the 4+4 CPU connector. No wonder the CPU sucked. This one is much better.
- Love it from the open to the overclock - Japie, 27 April 2020
So happy that I went for this motherboard. Overclocking, new bios update, easy assistance from MSI. Everything worked. Plain enough not be complicated and its future proof for my AMD graphics that's coming together with M.2 SSD... This is part of my 5 year build
