- Brilliant! Blazing fast speeds! - Nick, 26 November 2021
If you want to cap out your USB 3.2 and test just how fast it really is this baby coupled with a capable M.2 SSD (with its own NAND cache), will do it for you, with ample bandwidth left to spare. The fan is so quiet you cannot tell it is actually on and keeps the device ice cold to the touch even during rigorous benchmark testing.
Mine is running with Mushkin MKNSSDPE2TB-D8 Pilot-E 2TB 3D TLC NVMe M.2 2280 and they are limited only by what the USB bus is capable of providing a constant throughput without any read write performance dips as you might find in other typologies. - Not quite the 20GBs as advertised - SEAN, 10 August 2021
I purchased the enclosure to mount a 2TB mushkin pilot nvme ssd ( Up to 3500/3100 MB/s Sequential Read/Write Speed). The enclosure and assembly works well and the drive stays cool even with large transfers. However I only manage to get a ~750 MB/s read & write on Blackmagic Speed Test on an M1 16Gb Macbook Pro. Not sure if its an issue with M1 or the enclosure.
