- The little GPU that could - Daniel, 10 March 2022
Picked this GPU up a while after my old GPU died and its allowed me to return to the games I've been playing for the last couple of years. Easy install, drivers with Nvidia was painless, GSync works and can run 144fps on 1080p with some settings tweaked. If you need an upgrade but can't afford anything bigger. This little GPU won't let you down.
- Value for money - Jaco, 10 March 2022
Since I've bought the card I've had no more issues compared to my GT730. For a card that is able to run most modern game titles it was a good price.
- Great product for the price - Keuler, 17 February 2022
Have an older model Intel motherboard so had problems with freezing at BIOS load screen. Was resolved by simply unplugging card and updating BIOS. So if anyone else has the problem, simply do that. You will find plenty of how-to guides by just googling.
Product itself works great and is a steal at this price.
Great service and quick delivery from Wootware!
- Best budget card - Busani, 11 February 2022
This card has been good so far for me as new PC gamer. Great pricing, satisfying performance in 1080p, negligible bottleneck with i3 10100f, really pushes gives it's best on new game titles, perfect for the types of games I play.
- The box has only card inside+ 1 single sheet of info - Stefano, 6 December 2021
This graphic card box does not include, dvi adater or hdmi to vga adater in the box, not every customer has the knowledge
to know that you can buy these adapters separately - Best Budget Buy - Tyrone, 22 October 2021
Best bang for your buck Graphics Card for entry level gaming and general PC use.
I bought two of these as a small upgrade to my kids PC and they run most new title games on respectable graphic quality settings. - An Excellent But Unecessary Card - James, 24 August 2021
The 1650 GPU is only about 20% faster than a 1050 Ti, however it has vast improvements up to 50% on physics-based effects (i.e. lighting, Nbody, etc.) It's an entry-level GPU, but still holds against major titles.
The card itself is the best build quality I've seen with its compact design still sporting 2 smart fans which barely ever spin thanks to the great passive cooling heatspreader beneath the cover and a structure lending itself to good natural airflow. Expect quiet gameplay.
The card was decently priced at R3700 when I bought it, however, at ~R5400 as of writing, I am sorry to say that there's no decent bang for buck here. I have seen cards equipped with AMD's RX 6600-XT GPUs for around R8500 and they are comparable to nVidia's RTX 3060. As of markets now, you may as well go for broke if you _have_ to have a new card. Otherwise, keep your old nVidia GTX 980, or your AMD RX470/570 (or try to find a dirt cheap 2nd hand one) and save for something decent (15k up). Otherwise, if you're desparate because your old card is dying, you'll be better off soending R5k a Ryzen 5600G as a CPU upgrade. Don't expect to play Cyberpunk smoothly on the iGPU, but it's a good temporary stop-gap and it'll leave you running a 5000 series Ryzen which is quite a beast (and you can OC to make up the performance difference with the 5600X). It's about upgrade path. Finally, if you're running intel, then buy this card if you have no other options. Intel's iGPUs are awful, so forget it. The 1050 Ti still handles most games reasonably, but there're almost none in stock and a 1030 is not even with the PCB it's attached to.
TL;DR:
- If your older card works, keep it and wait until prices drop.
- If you have to replace a card on an intel system, this is the best option until you can get something better. Do not be tempted by the influx of 1030s, they're a waste.
- If you have to replace a card on an AMD system, you may as well upgrade to a 5600G at less than this card (R5000ish) because at least you get a CPU upgrade and will have a decent iGPU until you can afford a decent video card, at which point you'll have upgraded your CPU and GPU. Just remember to have a decent amount of RAM, minimum 16GB, to run the iGPU with at least 3600 CL16 speeds.
This card is gaming worthy, make no mistake, but it is a bit of a money-waster now that it's R5400. It'll handle Cyberpunk and other demanding titles better than the iGPU on a Ryzen 5600G, but that's about it, and for over 5k, it's not worth it.
A final note: Don't even bother trying to mine with this card. It achieves nothing.
