- Excellent Quality - Murshid, 21 April 2023
This is a great gaming headset from Sennheiser and very happy with my purchase. it has excellent quality. The breathable foam pads are comfortable for long usage.
Play around with the clamping slider and position it slightly tilted forward then it becomes very comfortable.
Over the years I have personally sworn by open back headphone designs, so understand fully what it all means when considering this. I came from a Audio Technica AD700X which was very open and its bass was a bit lacking. With this EPOS GSP500 it strikes a nice balance with its open back and being able to also decently produce low end bass.
The mic is nice and clear and perfectly fine for gaming.
The only issue I personally have is the low volume, it has 28ohm drivers which could be driven by a cellphone. However I personally found volume to be low when used on from my PC. perhaps consider an inline little DAC or headphone amplifier. - excellent - Matthew, 6 September 2022
these are fantastic headsets to totally worth the money excellent sound excellent comfort excellent service very quick no hassles and no problems extremely helpful staff thank you for the excellent service delivery was fast and friendly thank you very much wootware
- Powerful - Oluwabori, 17 December 2021
These headphones are quite powerful and the sound quality is incredible.
It must first ever open back headset and I love the wider sound stage.
Very comfortable to listen to for long hours.
Con: My motherboard struggled to drive these headset at max volume. It felt soo low.
I had to purchase the GSX 1200 DAC to really appreciate the potential of these headset. So keep that in mind. - GSP 500 - Sean, 21 August 2020
I had bought the GSP 600 but found it to enclosed around the ears with no open air. Which is where these come in... bass is slightly less than the 600s but the open feeling, breathing ears space and especially for open world games make these head phones absolute power. Amazing sound and voice clarity. Less clamping than the 600s same level of comfort at the headband which in my opinion are lacking on both after your 3rd hour. Oh and because of the open back cups that cable issue they had on the 600s where you could hear your shirt on the cable is now dramatically reduced.
Pros :
Great sound
Open Air
Less Clamping
Little to None Cable Feedback
Cons :
Must have a DAC to really get the quality you looking for.
Headband gets heavy after couple of hours
- Headphone review - Darian, 22 July 2020
Loving the sound quality of the headphones and the build . Slightly tight grip on my head however will get used to this. Headphones may require a dedicated amp for improved audio however this is not entirely required . Amazing sound . would recommend over digital gaming headphones.
- Excellent actually. - Yung Nugget, 4 December 2019
This makes 7.1 surround headsets obsolete because of its amazing directional sound and quality. This headset is very comfortable, made out of strong material. The packaging is simply breath taking with a rope cable that well never tangle. I recommend this for a professional competitive gamer. Also id like to point out that wootware is a absolute unit of a company, built my whole pc with them and i intend to be a loyal customer. Keep it up
- ITS AMAZING - Sabrefox91o, 30 October 2018
If you are a competitive gamer and need to upgrade to a new better headset this is the one for you. In CS GO I can hear everything and everyone it's crazy how much you miss in the game when you don't have this amazing headset. So 10/10 would buy again if needed :D
- Worth every penny - Yen Ming , 7 October 2018
If you are looking to upgrade a some serious gaming headsets, this is well worth it. My previous one is a Corsair RGB USB 7.1 Wired headset, this is definitely so much better, build quality too. Ignore the haters that say spending 3k is a waste of money.
However please get a high end mobo or a quality sound card (like Asus Xonar series) to fully appreciate these bad boys.
FYI, if you are using a Asus Xonar sound card, on board one, be prepared to tweak some setting to get the mic working on the ASUS app and on the VOIP app like discord and teamspeak.
If you have the cash and want to upgrade from decent to top tier, well worth it - You don't know quality until you try these! - Jamie, 25 June 2018
Short and sweet, the depth of sound that these headphones unleash will make you feel like you were listening to your grandmas megaphone all you life.
Its like jumping from 720p to 4K, I can't explain it, just put them on your head and you'll know.
Make sure your mobo can power these things, I have the flagship MSI X370 Gaming titanium and I'm still gonna buy an external amp.
Comfy large cups, open back sound is amazing.
Mic is clear and the mic stalk is crazy high quality.
If you have the cash, don't hesitate.
10/10.
- 9.5 Out of 10 - Neophyte Audiophile, 23 June 2018
There are some quality reviews about this Senheiser GSP 500 Headset, and what they say has been very accurate about how these are.
I've never owned a Sennheiser pair before, I came from a pair of Razer Carcharias (2011) which have 32 Ohm impedance. I thought that in some ways that might be a slight downgrade to these with 28 Ohms. This was a misconception, these GSP 500s are a completely other class of build quality. They are basically exactly the same as the GSP 600s, which are just closed back. I'm a fan of open back headphones, because you can still hear your surroundings, and the sound feels more like its coming from further around you.
After opening the box, it has this new smell that's akin to a luxury car's new smell.
Taking them out and feeling the physical build quality of the headset is something I've rarely experienced with anything. It's absolutely top craftsmanship.
The cable is extremely high quality anti-twist braid. The headband is flexible high quality plastic. The mic boom coming down feels amazingly smooth as well as the turning of the volume wheel on the side of the right cup.
Putting them on the first time surprises you with the clearance for you ears by the firm cushion. They are comfortable to wear for 3+ hours initially, and after a few days you get used to them and they loosen up a bit. They almost need a bit of run-in to be at optimal balance of comfort and firmness. After that it becomes around 6+ hours. My old set was much less firm and was comfortable for 10+ hours.
The sound is absolutely professional. From the crisp, detailed and natural sound at maximum amplification, to the open sound stage.
The mic is probably the best you can get for a gaming headset, it's perfect.
The GSP 500s worked well with a high quality motherboard on-board sound card/amplifier, mine is the "SupremeFX" by ASUS/Realtek. I do feel like they are really loud, but still clear at maximum amplification of the motherboard's sound card/amp, but it felt like the GSP 500s weren't driven all the way they can go.
I think a quality external amp like a Schiit Magni 3 might do the trick but I wouldn't have a clue. I'll probably try get some.
TL;DR:
Professional grade physical build quality.
Clamping grip is firm but comfortable.
Crystal clear and natural sound, tight base, open sound stage.
High quality headset mic.
Might benefit about 5-10% from a quality amp.
9.5/10.
