- ASUS BE92U WiFi 7 Tri-Band Router - Steve, 6 April 2025
I'm very impressed with this unit. I'ts relatively compact, but packs quite a powerful WiFi broadcast footprint. I have previously used an older Netgear Nighthawk D7800, and this has a clear footprint advantage over that. I'm not even using the WiFi seven features yet, as I have older cellphones, and nothing that can even connect to the 6G band. So for now I'm only using the 5G band, and it's still very impressive range wise. When I upgrade my other hardware to be compatible, I will revisit this review because right now I'm not even seeing any of the WiFi 7 advantages.
In terms of features, it has all the bells and whistles anyone could want. AI security protection (free), built in VPN support (multiple), and is very configurable in almost any aspect of the software.
There may be better Tri-Band WiFi 7 options out there, but not at this price point. To improve on this (coverage wise), you will have to spend close to R18k, and for me, that is not a feasible option.
Try one, you will not be disappointed!
