- Great, but - Andre, 13 March 2024
I love this device, it's performing better than I anticipated. A few issues that I guess you just have to live with. Firstly, sometimes when I boot the device I can hear the windows startup tune, but it just shows a white screen, and I need to restart it, sometimes a couple of times before it works. Sometimes the fingerprint scanner doesn't work and I have to enter a pin instead. Sometimes the taskbar doesn't show when it's set to auto-hide. These are all windows or software issues though, hopefully it can be resolved. Also worth noting is that it's hungry for power! I like playing at full blast, so the battery drains within an hour. Also a laptop power bank will charge it only one and a half times. I'm still very happy with it though, also thanks to wootware for the quick delivery.
- Really cool!! - Brando, 22 January 2024
This thing is amazing. I can't believe the performance one gets out of something this tiny. It's literally a full blown PC. Sure it's not going to pump frames like a modern gaming PC or laptop, but it's plenty strong enough to go low-medium on AAA games. Also games like Rocket-League are sooo much better than on Switch.
Also all the little tweaks and settings one can make to customise your experience per-game is just awesome.
I love the Ally and will be looking forward to the leaps the next generations make.
Just keep in mind that it IS Windows, so it won't be as "simple" as a Switch. But it's definitely worth it if you're already a PC gamer. - Great Handheld PC with Some Flaws - Bernard, 15 January 2024
Pros: Runs most games 1080p at 60fps while more demanding games require a little bit of tweaking. Feels great in your hands and controls are comfortable, slightly on the heavier side when you are lying down and holding it above you. Speaker audio quality is fantastic. Screen itself is awesome, handheld 1080p gaming at 120hz feels incredible.
Cons: Battery life. Most demanding games will struggle to last longer than 1-2 hours (depending on your power profile) while smaller indie titles can last a bit longer before needing to charge. Setup. Out of the box you need to do a lot of updates, primarily Windows updates but also BIOS and ASUS driver updates. This can be frustrating if you wanted to get started immediately.
Highly recommended for people who want an awesome handheld gaming pc, don't mind some initial setup and keep their charging cable close at hand. - Just brilliant - Mathieu, 9 December 2023
Really is an awesome device.love it. Powerful, with a great display. Functionality has improved with recent firmware and updates. Battery life can be on the short side running at max performance mode. recommend getting a fair sized +- 40000mah 65w power bank to go with it and you will be good to go for many hours on the go. Unfortunately no screen protector included.
- very good product - Pierre, 30 November 2023
Very happy with it. A bit pain in the butt to set up but it handles the games really well. Battery life are short but there are ways around it. I use a external card reader and I charge my Ally through that so I can connect ither HDD or even two extra Card readers and no problem so far.
