- Great DAC Amp at a great price, without the frills - Melwill, 28 June 2025
The Fiio BTR11 is a tiny DAC/AMP for anyone who has a phone without a headphone jack and don't want to spend an arm and a leg to buy decent quality Bluetooth headphones. The BTR11 sounds very close to it's older sibling the BTR15 except the weight is excellent as it is so light and sounds so amazing making you mobile without the extra weight unlike the BTR15 does (Roll up your long sleeve and and clip the BTR11 to your rolled up sleeve, running the cord up your arm). The BTR11 only has a single multi-colour LED for status of connection and power, a built-in plastic clip sturdy enough for it's 13g weight and a mic for calls or Google assistant. The BTR11 can be used as is without the Fiio Control app (only has firmware update function for the BTR11). The BTR11 only has Bluetooth as connection option though, USB Type-C is just for charging, unlike the BTR15. The Battery lasts for the advertised duration, for LDAC (~8 hours) and AAC (~15 hours) depending on the volume level set, stick to AAC for the extra battery life. The BTR11 is great at powering gaming headphones with ~30 Ohm like the Epos H6Pro or with 60-70 Ohm resistance like the Hyper Cloud 2, Cloud Alpha with volume set to 50%. You can also connect IEMs to the BTR11 and it sounds much clearer than on most phones that actually have 3.5mm headphone jacks, the BTR11 comes in Piano Black plastic so it is a finger print magnet, but excellent value.
