- This is a Life Saver - Ettiene, 2 April 2026
This UPS has saved my PC from sudden power dips and blackouts so many times in the last ten months, giving me time to do a proper PC shutdown.
Excellent product! - Meh - Suitable for Light Loads - DJDeon0, 10 April 2024
I'm not sure if mine was defective but it lasted the first time round for about 1hour before the batteries were severely worn and would never store that capacity ever again after every run. I've had it since 2019.
These are meant to be run for perhaps 5min tops so that you can save your work and shut down your system.
Mine came with 2x 12V 7AH batteries which was a little disappointing - I recently modified (Take caution! Do not try this at home!) mine with two more 12V 20AH LiFePo4 batteries but still don't get a lot of time with them - in fact, with the stock batteries it just shuts down on any loads close or over 500watt.
It's also quite loud and whiny - has a loud beep but it works for basic office needs - not really workstation loads.
Oh yes and it takes a looong time to fully trickle charge. AND it runs hot. Rather take the plunge and buy a proper Pure Sine Wave UPS or Inverter System with a large capacity that suits your needs best.
Please note this was my personal experience with the product and may have been a defective unit.
But Wootware's service was amazing as always! - High Capacity at a Good Cost - Marco, 29 November 2023
A very pleasant surprise is that the beeping on the unit I received is OFF by default! I'm not certain whether this is intentional, but this means that I didn't have to mess around with the outdated management software that's included with this UPS.
A CD-ROM with the software is included, but appears to be unusable now, since Flash was discontinued. I recommend a free, open-source utility called "winpower" instead, which seems to have built-in compatibility for a wide range of UPS manufacturers and models.
This unit also comes with two IEC cables that are male and female on each end, but it does NOT come with the three-prong cord for plugging into your wall outlet!
Warning: This UPS gives off a strong smell akin to plastic, for the first week of use, while it is powered on. I have used two other models of these "newer" Mecer units, and they have all done this. I recommend using this UPS only in a well-ventilated room, at least for the first week of continuous use. - Good UPS - Oluwabori, 18 March 2020
Good UPS. Works as expected.
Comes with a CD, but couldnt install the software as my PC and most recent ones for that matter have no CD drive.
No ideal support page found for the UPS either.
I ended up using a 3rd party software which is also unreliable.
