- RCT 850VA UPS - Bruce, 15 April 2024
Not a brand I knew. Very impressed with this product in both quality and operation. Big plus, it does not beep all the time and works very well and the price is great. Can recommend this product
- Perfect - Jacques, 13 February 2024
Bought a few of these 850VA, 1200VA and 2000VA RCT UPS's for an office that switches over to a generator during loadshedding. Works great, and they don't make a sound, so quite seamless. If it weren't for the lights that go off you wouldn't even notice that loadshedding started. SA Plugs at the back makes it very easy to implement. Really great products!
- Backup for slow inverter switch over - Alexandre, 9 August 2023
I got this to power a few devices when the inverter switches over during load shedding. So there is no demand for the UPS to run for more than a few minutes. The UPS has worked well enough for that, and it was reasonably easy to disconnect the speaker to avoid beeps at switchover.
- Good value for money - Paul, 19 July 2022
I am so thankful they fixed the annoying beep that would sound every 10 seconds when running on battery power. For that alone I am giving this 5 stars. Apart from that it works fine, the inclusion of a SA socket on the back is brilliant. Just don't confuse this with an inverter, it is designed to give you a couple of minutes to save your work and shut down.
- Not working - Johannes, 7 September 2020
First time loadshedding cut off the mains the UPS sprung into action and I was about to start saving prior to shutting down the PC. A bit problematic that the UPS only worked for 10 seconds and then immediately cut the power to my PC. The PC draws about 100 W at idle and the UPS is rated for 480W. The unit was brand new, only about 2 weeks old. Other than that I noticed how hot the UPS gets. With all that heat coming from the UPS I suspect it must waste quite a bit of power. I have not measured it though but even when the PC is off and the UPS is switched on there is heat coming from the unit.
