ASUS ROG Kithara HIFIMAN Planar Magnetic MEMS Boom Balanced Multi-Platform Black Wired Gaming Headset

A big thank you to Wootware for bringing in this headset. I waited for more than a month via back order, even before the webpage was brought up but Jesse kept me up to speed.

Immediate first impression is WOW, the packaging, presentation and build quality of this headset is well worth noting. You really feel like you have received something special with the sound signature certificate presented on opening the box. My GSP600 and GSX1200 Dac has served me well for the past 5 years but it was time to move a step up and go from closed back to open back.

I honestly can't fault this headset, it sounds great, it looks great, and it's surprisingly comfortable at 420g. My GSP600 hurts my head after about an hour of use. I spent the whole weekend gaming on the Kitharas and not once did I feel discomfort.

I have paired the Kitharas with my new Fosi Audio K7 DAC. Please note. I do not recommend buying this headset without a dedicated DAC. It might be 16omh but don't be fooled, the planar drivers demand power. Not even the included usb-C DAC is sufficient IMO.

Another thing of note is the audio cable is not very long, but again not a problem if you use it with a DAC.
All in all this will be my new daily driver for many years to come :D
