- Fantastic Speeds at range even in busy frequencies - Abdul Baasit, 8 May 2026
The M3000 can work as a standalone router or as a mesh network device.
However, I did find the firmware rather lacking functionality wise, on the product website you can find alternative firmware which use the openWRT platform which gives you access to more functionality. There is a caveat to this, it would reduce the mesh capabilities as the Cudy firmware allows you to use multiple routers/mesh devices with ethernet cables as backhaul connections and openWRT only allows one router to have a backhaul connections.
I.O.T - I have noted some issues when connecting IOT devices to these routers, they often work on the same IP range whoever during discovery or ip connections they are treated as being outside of your network meaning home assistant or other homekit softwares will pick them up but be unable to connect to they even with a static IP, you will get a hostname error. I have even tried adding a new IP range to my master router, it does not fix the issues. To remedy the issue, I found a work around that works similar to mesh networking that is using the mesh extender mode during setup, this allows for fast roaming and no IOT pairing issues. - Finally a well priced mesh network that works well in large homes - Nicholas, 17 October 2025
I have been looking for quite a while, I had 2 unifi ap's but very old
Was looking at the Tp-link equivalent but the costs are nearly double on the cudy
decided on this mesh network, purchase 2 sets of these Aswell as the Cudy WR3000 AX3000 WiFi 6 Dual-Band Gigabit Ethernet Mesh Wireless Router to make it a complete cudy setup.
Never heard of this brand before but I'm very pleased with the performance so far
They are all connected via network cable to a switch, which is the best setup for me
Pro's
- performs very well in a large house baring in mined I have a cudy ap in most rooms
- very well priced for what you get.
- performs just as well as its competitors for half the costs
-setup was quick and automated, automatically adding the ap's to the mesh when coming online
Cons
- management of the wireless and security is rather basic
- mesh management app is also basic tp-link is way better in this regard
Recommendations:
- purchase these with the Cudy WR3000 AX3000 WiFi 6 Dual-Band Gigabit Ethernet Mesh Wireless Router to get the full experience and a 1stop place to manage your entire network
it also manages your mesh network and ap's
- this is perfect for someone who just wants good wireless speeds and doesn't care much about features and addons
- Excellent - Charné, 5 May 2025
The set-up is super easy, and the range is fantastic. My father needed to extend the wifi signal to their adjacent property and this got the job done.
