- Good UPS, but doesn't last long (still better than others). - Rob, 11 August 2022
We've bought many of these UPS', but like most UPS', they last about a year (24/7 use). UPS' have gotten very expensive these last 2-3 years, and slowly the value of these units is becoming less attractive sadly. Overall it's a good UPS in this class/scale, just don't expect it to last a long time.
- Well Worth It - Yasin, 13 February 2019
Shopping for a UPS was tricky as there is not a lot of information and reviews of the products available in SA. After some research, I settled on this product. I've had it for about 2 months and so far it works great.
It works as intended, I have 2 desktop PC's and a monitor connected. With the PC's at idle, drawing about 300w-350w, the battery is estimated to run for about 15-20 minutes. It is completely silent when fully charged and not running off the battery. The UPS allows you to connect it to 1 pc to communicate (need to download Eaton UPS Companion software) charge/battery capacity, estimated runtime, output load, as well as estimated energy consumption. It also allows the UPS to automatically shut down the PC if it is running on the battery for a certain amount of time or if there is only a certain amount of battery power/time left.
The only drawback is that the while charging/discharging the fan kicks in and for some, it can be quite loud. Any amount of battery use (or even if fully charged and you disconnect the UPS from all devices including the inlet) will require a significant charge time. From my experience it does not matter if the battery is at 50% or 90% it will take 6+ hours to charge.
For the price and functionality, it is well worth it for home use.
