- Very good purchase - Intel Lover, 20 March 2023
So far all has been good with this card, would recommend waiting a little bit though the drivers are horrible. Wootware is awesome.
- Great product for its price - Sean, 20 March 2023
Look, this is a first generation card, its not going to be perfect. If you are after 100% reliability/stability, i would recommend a competitor. I really wanted to support having a third GPU manufacturer and personally i haven't regretted the decision. I would however recommend doing your own research before buying.
As for the product itself, it arrived the day after purchase and was well packed (thanks Wootware). Its the standard 2 slot, 2 fan form-factor, but its also really heavy. I installed mine vertically via a riser cable but if you are going horizontal, i recommend a GPU support.
Getting it to boot was annoying, in the end i had to lock my PCIe speed in bios before i got a display. The software tools feel fine for monitoring, the "overlay" feature is silly and appears to default to 1080p resolution (i use a 2k monitor) so it looks awful when it starts. Its unneeded though and in the end i disabled it and used the tools like a normal person.
As for games: simply put, newer/mainstream games run better than older/indie ones. Cyberpunk had no issues but on older ones (like exile: crystal souls) i got strange black speckles whenever specific items were visible.
TLDR: Consider alternatives if you want something that "just works" or play mostly older games, I think the hardware is great for the price, hopefully the drivers will catch up more.
