- Brilliant - Jaryd Solomon, 14 September 2025
I am highly impressed, this Logitech Z906 is proper. I am used to Audiophile equipment highs are decent enough but brilliant value. Bass is sick tho!
- Exceptional Quality - Derek, 10 May 2021
Way back when I had the space, I had a set of Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 speakers (we're talking a good 15+ years ago), which I thought were amazing. After I got married, and my wife and I started living together, space became more constrained, so I had to get something more practical for my setup.
Enter a set of Logitech Z323's (2.1), which at the time, I thought were pretty good, and as a result, had them for a good several years.
Recently, I decided I was in a position to treat myself and wanted some decent quality audio for a change (for gaming and work), so looking around I wasn't feeling particularly moved by a number of options until I came across the Z906's. I looked at a few reviews online and had some anecdotal information from a friend who claimed they were amazing and duly decided to give them a go.
To say I was surprised is an understatement. I didn't know PC-centric audio products could sound this amazing! It felt like someone took cotton wool stuffing out of my ears and I was really hearing crisp, clear sound for the first time.
The high range is crisp, clean and clear with the mid-range being equally clear and warm. The dynamic range is great, the bass on the subwoofer is exceptional. It's rich, deep and distortion-free... and it really is "room-filling" bass. It doesn't sound tinny or anaemic at all and I'd argue this system rivals high-end home theatre audio, easily. In fact, I recently replaced my old Sony AV receiver with a more modern Yamaha RVX series, and even with my big floor-standing tower speakers and dedicated active subwoofer, I'd say these Logitech speakers hands-down produce better quality audio.
Having winced at the price initially, I can say they are WELL worth the money spent, and you can see why they cost what they do. The build quality of the speakers are exceptional, it really has a premium feel to it, the drivers even look premium.
The Good:
* Exceptional quality audio across low, mid and high ranges. Crisp, clean, rich and distortion-free.
* Each speaker is individually wired and you can replace the audio cables, unlike some of the more entry-level or mid-range solutions.
* Silicon pads under each speaker to dampen vibration and are non-slip as a bonus.
* Multiple source options from RCA to stereo jack to SPDIF optical.
* More sound power than you could ever listen to comfortably.
* The speakers and subwoofer are substantial, they aren't light (usually a sign of decent magnets and quality drivers adding the heft).
The "Not so great but..."
* The price - it's quite expensive BUT, my trepidation was quickly washed away when I fired them up. This IS a premium product, so the price is justified. Don't be fooled by this.
The not so good:
* The only gripe I really have is the "receiver"/console where you control the volume and input sources from. It feels like the ONLY part they skimped on cost from a bit. The plastic is a bit cheap with the buttons and lights seeming a bit of an afterthought. At this price point it might have been nice for it to have had some kind of metal finish, anodized aluminium maybe, and some better labelling and lighting.
* The console is also too light. It would have done better to have a bit more weight so it can manhandle the thick interface cable coming from it. As it stands now, the cable means it doesn't sit flush and you have to wrangle the cable a bit to make it sit how you want.
* The console from an industrial design perspective looks a bit "PC" or dated (I think these speakers have been on the market for a while now anyway, so I can forgive that). It would have probably benefitted from a more uniform design in my view.
I can forgive the "Not so good" in favour of the sheer quality of the audio and the quality of the speakers themselves. Exceptional product and well worth the spend... now that I've been spoiled I can never go back to a lesser product for gaming or work.
Highly recommended!
- A Whale of a Time - Huriachi, 26 January 2018
I bought these to play whale sounds in an attempt to cause confusion in my residence and boy howdy, do they play whale sounds like nobody's business. I'm only a couple of hours in, but my neighbors are unsure of what's going on. If I increase the volume I'm positive the whole neighborhood will think they're in a marina.
Seriously though. This system had all the inputs I needed and it's THX certified. The sound is pure, crisp and really captures the highs and lows of the whale spectrum :P I'm quite happy with the audio fidelity on display from all the drivers. Everything I've thrown at it has sounded on point. I can heartily recommend it to anyone who's considering the purchase, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Thanks for the great service Wootware, as well as the puns. You guys are awesome ;) - Happiness - Shane, 14 November 2013
This is a replacement to the Creative's I had which unfortunately, due to age, can no longer be repaired. When I received my purchase, I was like a kid getting a new toy. There was no delay in unpacking and setting up as soon as I got home.
Initial impressions are way beyond what I expected. The sound is full and warm. The subwoofer is what took my surprise, they are present but not in your face, compared to other units I have auditioned. They compliment the system as a whole just nicely. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase :)
Thanks WootWare :D
