- Basically alright - Wesley, 5 May 2021
Well, it's a GT 1030. You didn't buy it for the benchmarks. Keep in mind that the DVI port is DVI-D.
There are two main takeaways you need to keep in mind with this card:
One, there are no NVIDIA Studio drivers. If you're buying this as a basic display adapter for your workstation, only GTX cards can run the Studio drivers without hacks. You're forced to use the regular GeForce drivers, which means that stability will likely be lower for CAD and other professional applications.
Two, it lacks a low-profile bracket. - Palit GeForce GT 1030 - Herbert, 9 November 2020
Product works as expected under Windows 10. Wootware service is consistently excellent and I received the delivery faster then expected. Have bought from them before and will buy from them also in future. Can only recommend Wootware to anyone shopping for computer parts.
- Does what its supposed to - Mvelo, 15 September 2020
Took four working days to arrive, had to wait over the weekend which was excruciating, but the product Works wonderfully, I'm still playing older AAA games that i missed out on and making my way to newer ones with no problems, it will run GTA V. Editing softwares look and work exceptionally well Movies look better. If you are coming from HD Graphics this is the upgrade to make.
- GT 1030 Thumbs up - George , 27 August 2020
I bought this card for my kids and i'm happy with the performance especially compared to the price. It plays most 1080p games and runs cool. The card impresses especially when compared to the 7700 it replaces which had only 1gb of RAM but was 4 time this little cards size
- Underrated GPU - Matt, 11 August 2020
As a person that came from playing on consoles I am really satisfied with this gpu considering it's price, size and how silent it is. Now I can finally play e sports games with no frame drops and with a mouse and keyboard.
Paired it with a dell Optiplex 7010 with a ssd and it runs like a beast, considering the price to performance. Just keep in mind there is no included bracket but the GPU is so light weight it is not the end of the world.
And Wootware provided me with excellent service and Advice overall and I am pleased seeing that this is my first time buying from them. - Nvidia GT 1030 good for ultra-low budget semi-retro gaming and media PC - Dirko, 1 June 2020
I use this card with a Turion ii neo Dualcore (HP N54L) and can play older (5+year) games and some new non AAA titles at lower settings (achieving 25+ fps, CPU bottle-necked) in Linux.
The supported codecs helps with multimedia decode offloading, encoding not so much. Note that in Linux, browser based media acceleration is a pain to get working, but VLC etc. is fine. (see https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix for supported codecs)
Anther thing to note is that older Nvidia cards' driver support in Linux/Windows is EOL for latest release drivers, so this is a good replacement card for the next few years of non legacy driver support, if you need it (see https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3473/~/eol-windows-driver-support-for-legacy-products and https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3142/~/support-timeframes-for-unix-legacy-gpu-releases )
Two things to note before you buy:
1) Does not come with low profile bracket (you can buy this after market at ˜R30, the bracket slots are standard)
2) Some older BIOSes might have issue initializing this card at POST, but if the OS boots, the OS drivers will initialize it. - Cool 'n quiet - Marcel, 12 May 2020
This card runs cool and quiet, always below 60°C. Will be used for 1080p streaming on the long run.
