- Good Paste - Duy, 4 December 2025
Good and Cheap Paste. No complaints.
- Unbelievably good - Sparky, 28 July 2022
I purchased this paste way back in 2019, never really used the stuff, mostly because I forgot where I put the tubes - Construction...
Now in 2022, I found them. I got 2x tubes of what appears to be 1g each.
Why do I say this stuff is unbelievably good:
TLDR:
Stuff brought my GPU's edge down to ~60c and my hotspot maxed at 76c (all testing was done in a temperature-controlled room at 25c).
The "Story" using my: AMD RX 6700XT - don't want to get into details as to which model but not reference. (unfortunately, I did not purchase the card from wootware - they likely would have entertained the idea of me RMA-ing it)
1. I have been having very poor temperature delta's between my GPU's edge and hotspot temperature (well over 30c), ie Edge is at 65c hotspot was ~105c (stock paste), this is considered "in spec" so an RMA was denied, by whomever I purchased it from so here I am.
2. I initially repasted with mx4 (the so-called benchmark), at first the hotspot dropped nicely (mid '80s) while due to my fan curve the edge remained the same, so I was happy. Unfortunately, the mx4 suffered from the pump-out effect, and the delta rose again with the hotspot hitting the mid 90's (took a couple of months)
3. I then tried Coolermaster mastergel pro, the stuff was a nightmare to apply (still had the traditional tube), this improved temps significantly, the edge went to 60c, and the hotspot rarely exceeded 80c however it seems the mastergel pro degrades with higher temperatures, took a week before the hotspot went flying back to the mid-90's. The paste turned into something resembling oily concrete (I may have been unlucky and gotten an old/bad tube)
4. Corsair TM30... No, just no, fine for a CPU not so much for a GPU (edge was 65 hotspots erratic but near 95c), it's worse than MX4 while costing more for this application. The only good thing is it's very easy to apply.
Finally, this Phanteks PH-NDC is something else, the specs might have you think it's rubbish (a measly 4.5 W/m-k vs the 11 of the Coolermaster stuff), however, it appears to punch above its class.
The edge-hotspot delta has dropped around 15c!!
An interesting comparison, this is similar to what I got on my Asus Strix RX Vega 64 using Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut LIQUID METAL!!! I would have used that however, it is a serious pain (in the ***) to apply and even more so to remove if needed, additionally, it does stain (and dimple/damage) the nickel plating. This is my experience and irrespective of what anyone says, I can't recommend it for GPU usage.
This stuff brought my edge down to ~60c and my hotspot maxed at ~75c (all testing was done in a temperature-controlled room at 25c, same fan curve etc...).
I do not know if it will suffer from pump out as I will be replacing this with Thermal grizzly Hydronaut in a couple of days (I have read that the Kryonaut suffers degradation over 80c and I'm tired of repasting at this point - Hydronaut apparently does not degrade or pump-out over long term usage).
However out of all the pastes that I tested thus far this one was easy enough to apply (I do spread the paste out on direct dye such as a GPU, it is in my case more consistent than the "dot", or cross methods), and so far is performing the best.
So far I can recommend this stuff. - This is good stuff! - Brett, 18 February 2021
You cant find much about this stuff online. It's usually included with Phanteks coolers. Seems like Wootware is one of the few places around the world where you can buy this stuff. The reviews here looked good so I bought some.
I re-pasted my firey Dell G5 5500 laptop with this and results were amazing! It has an Intel i7 10750h and RTX2060. A Blender CPU bench would have the CPU thermal throttling within 3 seconds. The CPU power would drop to about 60w just to keep the temp under 93deg. With this paste, the CPU is now power throttling at its maximum 85w continuous and temp is about 87deg. The GPU runs about 8deg cooler too. Epic stuff! Let's see how it holds up over time. - Does what it says on the tin - Faux_Grey, 2 June 2020
You get two tubes, each tube can easily do two applications, so you can do 4 in total, real good value for money.
re-pasted a few old GPUs, a last-gen wootbook and more-smartly re-pasted my 3950X to its water cooler and it gave good improvements to temperatures on everything, especially the wootbook.
It's no thermal grizzly or liquid metal, but it's a load better than 90% of the stuff out there.
It's non-conductive so even if you're absolutely useless at applying the stuff you don't have to worry about it lying on your motherboard.
Would recommend pre-heating the stuff in the tube a little bit before applying. (Use a hairdryer/heat gun/ hot water on the tube - maybe it's just winter?) But it is a bit difficult to get out the tube at lower temperatures.
Would also definitely recommend pre-heating the stuff before REMOVING a heatsink/cpu which you've used it on. I recently re-pasted a 1700X which I had previously used this on, and when removing the stock AMD heatsink, the CPU came with it, even with the motherboard locking mechanism still down.
Also works well on the raspberry pi 4! - Great Paste - Huge Improvement - Channing, 2 December 2019
I bought this paste to apply to both my CPU (Intel Core i7 6700K) and GPU (AMD Radeon R9 390X) and I was met with great results. I had used a really bad quality thermal paste on my CPU before, and my GPU still had the stock thermal paste on it from the factory. My CPU and GPU are both overclocked.
Before my temps were 99C on CPU and 94C on GPU. Both were at 100% fan speed and both were thermal throttling. After applying the paste I am now down to 88C on CPU and 80C GPU. The fans are noticeably quieter now as well. I stress tested them both for over an hour using Prime95 Small FFTs for CPU and 3DMark Time Spy for GPU. That is a huge improvement! I had already cleaned out the fans and heatsinks before I replaced the paste which proves that it was definitely the thermal paste that made the difference.
Overall, extremely impressed with this paste. Highly recommend. It's non-conductive too, which gives you peace of mind for things like the GPU with all the capacitors around the die and not having to worry about anything shorting out. - Performs well, but cures - Peter, 3 March 2019
Put this on my Ryzen 7 1700 with the stock HSF in early July 2017. It performed well, and I was able to get a 3.7 GHz OC without overheating.
I recently replaced the stock cooler, and this had cured, making it very difficult to remove the HSF (heatgun was required). I put a different thermal paste on with my new cooler. - Best thermal paste - Travis, 8 July 2018
This is brilliant TIM if you thinking well what can some paste do well acually alot ...the stuff from Matrix is brown Cr@p and you'll be better off using toothpaste but this paste is top notch helped me bring my temps down 10°C Wootware ftw
- Great Thermal Paste - Johan, 1 June 2018
Bought this paste in order to replace the thermal paste they usually give with the cpu coolers and I must say this paste is great. Keeps everything running at low temperatures
- High Performance Paste - Marco, 17 May 2018
At a great price, and comes with two syringes. My CPU's average idle temperature improved by 15 degrees, and maintains this ratio of performance under heavy load. Highly recommended!
- Amazing stuff - Greatnation, 20 January 2018
My PC was actually falling over with heat. I was getting over 90 degs C under load sometimes higher and this was using AIO cooling (120mm rad). Idle ran around 58 degs to 62 degs. I was using some cr@ppy thermal paste from Matrix Computers that they sold me for about R70. Applied some Phanteks magic, now it runs at 45 degrees idle and never exceeds 72 degrees at load. Crazy good stuff. Still might de-lid my cpu and renew thermal paste on the chip though, just to push temps even lower. Wish wootware sold de-lidding tools.
- Brilliant - Jeremy, 30 May 2017
Very tough to apply as it has same texture as hard dry Play Dough but once on CPU I'm sitting at a perfect 30 Degrees
- Lowered temps - Louis, 15 April 2017
I have a RX 480 with custom air cooler (Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo ii). I re-pasted with this, and my max temps went from 75 degrees C to 55 degrees C. Sure, the colder weather had a part to play, but even with that taken into account. Daaaaamn.
If this helps, I tried out the X method of pasting for the first time on CPU and GPU. Both have lowered temps. /anecdotal - Best buy ever - Craig, 14 December 2016
I decided to buy this as I was building a new PC. Best decision, as the plastic cover on the Corsair H115 came off and rubbed some of the past off. I used this paste and the CPU temps are very low. Great product at a great price. Thanks to Wootware for all the help and recommendations with the PC build. Outstanding service!!!
- Superb! - Riyadh, 14 October 2016
*High fives* Wootware for bringing this in....
