- Sabrent SSD - Prega, 24 July 2023
Only had it for about 2 weeks so can't comment on reliability but can say that it's extremely fast and works flawlessly. What really impressed me the most though is that absolutely fantastic service I received from Wootware. My previous SSD gave up the ghost after only about 6 months. Since I had purchased this SSD from Wootware I contacted customer service to assist with the problem. What a pleasure it was dealing with them. They did everything necessary that was required for the return and replacement of the faulty SSD. Since I did not have any faith in this brand of SSD, I suggested they rather give me a credit and let me choose another brand. This was done immediately and I have since acquired the above and am hoping that all goes well with this one. Once again I want to commend Wootware on their outstanding customer service.
- Great value - Brian, 15 August 2022
I havnt used an m2 before, i didnt expect such a difference from a sata SSD. Well worth it if you are thinking of upgrading but arent sure its worth. Easy to install, super fast.
- Great speed at a great price. - Ryan, 30 December 2021
Very good price for what you're getting. Speed is great on PCIe 4.0. Not the fastest (vs some other PCIe 4.0 NVMe's), but definitely fast enough at this price point. Does tend to get a bit hot though, it's better under a heatsink, throttles at 70C if you do stuff that will actually get it there. And as always, thanks to Wootware for awesome service and super speedy delivery!!! I am very happy with my purchase so far.
- Excellent value and performance - Derek, 8 September 2021
I was really impressed that I could get a drive of this performance at the price (available at the time of writing this). Anecdotal evidence would suggest that this drive is really popular and performs really well.
This is the first PCIe Gen. 4 drive I've owned. Installation wasn't quite as easy as with a typical PCIe Gen. 3 drive as you have to install these with a heatsink (I'll get to this later). Fortunately, my X570 motherboard has an included heatsink for this so once I installed the drive and the motherboard heatsink, the drive was picked up by UEFI and Windows and I was good to go.
Some challenges.
1. It would be useful for Sabrent to consider including a screw to install the drive. I found that my X570 board did not include a spare screw for the mounting point at which you would fix the drive down (and for scenarios where someone might have lost the screw if they actually had one to start with).
2. There should be more clear mention of requiring a heatsink for PCIe Gen.4 drives - they do run a fair bit hotter than their Gen. 3 counterparts (due to the higher performance). Failure to do so would result in the drive thermal throttling and performing below it's rated maximum. Aftermarket heatsinks are available (if one is unfortunate enough to have a motherboard that comes without an integrated heatsink).
3. The Acronis cloning software does not appear to work with Windows 11 (granted, I am running pre-release builds). It will install and work as intended, however, on rebooting and trying to switch the boot drive over, results in the new drive (the cloned one) having difficulty in Windows starting up, you end up in a cycle of "Repairing" - the only solve was to do a clean installation. I suspect this has something to do with the new security requirements of Windows 11 (TPM, Secure Boot and a bunch of other things). It's likely a unique GUID is generated for the drive, and cloning the drive does not clone the GUID which is very likely used as part of some kind of checksum in the secure start-up process. So be aware of this. You WILL need to do a clean installation (I'm not sure if this applies to Windows 10).
Otherwise, a really good drive, I have noticed that apps seem to be a touch more responsive and general file system operations are snappier also, relative to my older Gen. 3 Samsung Evo 960. - Great Value and Performance - Jordan, 12 April 2021
Easy to install, great cloning software included for free. Runs super quick and stays at stable temperatures. If you have PCI-E4 4.0 one of these bad boys is a must.
- Perfect - Waseem, 10 February 2021
First of all, if you are tight for cash then buy a 3.0 SSD instead. You will still get amazing speeds and save a bit of money.
I'm using this on a Asus TUF B550-Plus motherboard. The motherboard has 24 pcie 4.0 lanes, of which 4 are for the CPU, 16 are for the GPU, and the remaining 4 are for the M.2 NVMe SSD slot. At the time of testing my 1TB Sabrent SSD storage space was 70% free. GPU slot is occupied with a RTX 3070, CPU slot is occupied with a Ryzen 5600X. No other SATA drives or other M.2 slot are occupied.

Thrilled with this 1TB NVMe.
I've future proofed my life for the next foreseeable future, with a brilliant, fast, responsive SSD.
The price for the component, along with international reviews were too good to pass up. - Brilliant speed for games - Nicholas, 24 December 2020
I needed some extra space for current games (Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom Eternal). Not sure how much it has helped with performance but loading time is absolutely fantastic... especially with Cyber punk, loading saves happens faster than the in game dialogue.
- Good value - Jean, 14 December 2020
This is the best value 4.0 1Tb drive I could find and I'm very impressed. Speeds are great, and no problem with thermals. So far appears to be a very good upgrade.
- Lighting fast - Luke, 31 August 2020
This bad boy has your PC on before you click the power button! Best paired with a gen 4 motherboard to get the full speeds and would recommend ensuring your motherboard has a m.2 heatsink as this drive does get hot
- Good stuff nice ssd. - Ryan, 12 August 2020
Ensure you have a motherboard that supports PCIE 4.0 then you will have a drive thats faster than you could imagine. While this ssd is expensive its still the best option for PCIE 4.0 as it has the same controller as the more expensive ones. If your motherboard has a heatsink for M.2 slot then even better. This bad boy gets hot under full load.
- Zoom zoom - James, 2 August 2020
Running on a PCIE4 mobo, ran some benchmarks and got the full speeds advertised.
If your mobo doesn't have heatsinks, you may need to get one.
Using this as windows drive and my main games. Very noticeable change from Sata HDD or SSD in loading times. - Speed is relative - Geoff, 10 June 2020
First off. I am running on a gen 3 motherboard so the drive should go faster on a new gen 4 board. This is a very fast drive. If you are chasing numbers on a disk speed-check. I have loaded a few different games to see how much quicker it is. i had a Samsung evo 850 ssd before and I struggle to FEEL the difference unfortunately.
- Awesome Upgrade! - Jacques, 26 February 2020
Speeds pretty much hover around the same as every other NVM.E 4.0 SSD out now - albeit a few MB/s slower if you're picky - but at a far cheaper price. Nice bargain if you're looking to upgrade, I originally bought an Adata SX6000-PRO which wasn't bad by any means, but it was only a 500Gb at the time and chose to bite the bullet and get this, and so far I'm not disappointed.
