- Good drive, good price. - Justin, 18 October 2023
I can't attest to the performance of the drive at native as my board only supports pcie3.0.
However, CrystalDiskMark 8 scores were good. Sequential scores (MB/s) @ 3536 read 3394 write
There is also a firmware update for this device that adds DirectStorage support.
Side note: This came packaged REALLY well from Wootware, big props! - Seagate ZP1000GM3A023 FireCuda 530 Heatsink 1TB M.2 (2280) NVMe PCI-E 4.0 Solid State Drive - Jennino, 28 September 2023
Order placed on Saturday 23/09/2023 but order was only processed on Tuesday the 26/09/2023 due to the Monday being a public holiday on the 24/25 of September. Got an email stating delivery is scheduled for the 28/09/2023. Parcel arrived earlier than expected on the 27/09/2023 at about 8am, brilliant logistics thanks to the The Courier Guy and Wootware dispatchers. SSD was securely packaged and upon opening I found there was no mounting SCREW to secure it to my Motherboard (Asrock Z270...Yes I know it is old and it only supports Gen 3 nvme SSD's but I am looking to future proof my next build which will be AM5. So installation took me a while as I had to dig through all my spares to find a screw which I found on an old 2.5inch mechanical laptop hard drive. With a little elbow grease I managed to get the screw out of the 2.5inch HDD Motherboard and use that to mount the nvme ssd. The heatsink on this drive is rather big but had no problem getting it into the NV Slot under the CPU. I tested it on the 2nd slot as well as I plan on getting a 2TB and another 1TB Seagate 530 Firecuda in the future but the heatsink on the SSD was to big to fit as the Southbridge Heatsink on my motherboard got in the way. As for performance yes there is and this will only double once I get a Gen4 NVME motherboard. My last drive was a Samsung Evo 850 Pro and I can see the gains performance wise. As for CrystalDisk Mark Benchmark it is as follows:
SEQ1M Q8T1 - Read = 3261.30mbps - Write = 3085.12mbps
SEQ128K Q32T1 - Read = 3371.15mbps - Write = 3199.74mbps
RND4K Q32T16 - Read = 2594.11mbps - Write = 1080.46mbps
RND4K Q1T1- Read = 74.03mbps - Write = 196.16mbps
All this is the typical GEN3 Speeds.
I cannot comment on Game Loading Times as my GPU just packed up so I have to build towards that but I am happy with this purchase as well as the ease of purchase from the Wootware website not to mention the Courier Guy's speedy delivery. Great job guys keep it up. - Great SSD - Joshin, 6 September 2023
The FireCuda with heatsink is a great M.2 SSD. A bit pricey compared to others but considering what you get, it's worth the price. I was a bit concerned it might no fit since it's larger than others, but its actually not that much bigger and fitted perfectly. Also, great service from Wootware as usual
