- Great Headset terrible spares from Sennheiser - Shane, 17 January 2026
Love the headset, but based on the amount of earpads I've gone through and now they are discontinued when the headset is still in perfect order and I cannot find even aftermarket, I'm not ever spending this kind of money or supporting Sennheiser again. The first set failed within 6 months and the manufacturer told me thats my problem. No longer have trust in them at all.
- Earpads do not last - STAY AWAY - Jason, 27 January 2022
Since purchasing this headset in 2018 I have had to replace the earpads FOUR times. Complaint to Sennheiser bares no fruit, not willing to assist. Paying over R500 including courier costs per year should not be a norm when forking out over R3k for a headset. Wootware stated earpads are not covered by the warranty.
Sennheiser SA management has admitted that their design on the earpads is flawed, and has done nothing to improve the quality of the earpads. My previous set of Sennies lasted me 10 years, in fact, I still have them.
That being said, if replacing earpads on an annual basis and no support from the brand itself seems like a good tradeoff for decent sound and comfort, then by all means go ahead. - Phenominal sound, but designed for people with a flat head. - Darryl, 11 August 2020
The audio response and sound isolation, for which I bought these, is top spec, as expected from a name like Sennheiser. The overall build quality is superb and the microphone is responsive and very, very sensitive.
There is, however, an underlying design flaw in the geometry of the overhead bar that holds the ear pieces pushed against the sides of your skull. If you have a tall and pointy head (or big hair) the padded headpiece will push quite firmly into the top of your skull and I'm told becomes infuriatingly uncomfortable after an hour at best. But, I'm a skinhead with a flat skull so this does not bother me.
There is also a definite transfer of sound through the cable into the headset if you're listening to dead air. Again, this is something that I don't really do so it doesn't affect my experience.
10/10 - Audio is fantastic and my wife can't use them. - Conclusion - Morne, 9 August 2020
So I have been using my GSP 600 for a year , and yes they look like something from Reggies , but maybe at the start not as comfortable as a Strix 300 , but these headphones paired with a GSX1000 is beyond incredible.
And if along the line you want to upgrade your sound experience pair that GSX1000 with a JDS atom and hook it up to a lekker set of audiophile headphones.
TDLR . Expensive , better with a GSX1000 /1200 ( you will hear the difference) , comfortable beyond if you wear them in a bit (even if you wear glasses) . - Noise isolation is over 9000 - Wesley, 3 August 2020
First impression.
The build quality is very solid. These should last you a very long time. Also has a detachable cable.
Coming from a high end Audio Technica ADH-AG1 gaming headset i was worried that the GSP600 would be a downgrade in sound quality. Luckily this is not the case. Sound quality is simply outstanding. Highs, mids and lows are distinct and never overpower each other no matter how loud you push the volume. The bass is plenty, controlled and fun to listen to.
Noise isolation is the best I have ever experienced on an over ear headset. Your partner will be talking to themselves xD.
Nitpicking wise there is a tiny bit of cable noise but this goes away as soon as you listen to anything so that's fine and due to the closed back design you can't really hear yourself when speaking so just something to get used to when on discord.
Sound 10/10
Mic 9/10
Build 9/10
Comfort 8/10
@Wootware i bought this headset with the comfort of knowing i can get replacement ear pads down the line. Hope you guys get stock again ;) - A Step backwards - Steven, 22 January 2020
I went back-and-forth between options and eventually decided to go for the GSP600.
Unfortunately for me these are a BIG disappointment and I tend to agree with many of the negative reviews out there.
I find this headset uncomfortable. It's very wide but not quite "tall" enough. I have it extended to its max and it is still tight with an unusual headband placement more to the front than over the top of your head.
One of the most annoying issues is the braided cable. It looks and feels great but any movement along its length and you can hear the vibrations running up and into the left cup. This is a BIG issue.
In my opinion, the sound quality is just a bit better than average. Nothing spectacular.
They are well sealed and do isolate ambient sounds very well but I find the sound stage really small.
Overall I regret my purchase and for me this is a downgrade from my old Roccat headset.
I expected a LOT more from a brand like Sennheiser, especially at this price point.
- Top 5 Star - Paul, 20 October 2019
Absolute 5 Star the best ever in my Live 74
- Great for eSports and VR - Willem, 17 March 2019
Build quality, Sound isolation, Mic pick-up, Volume and mic controls, Unpacking experience: 5/5
Mic recording quality, Headset sound quality: 4/5
Price class, Weight, Comfort (prolonged use): 3/5
The mic pick-up is really impressive! Your friends on Discord would not notice whether someone is speaking next to you or speakers are on. The mic puck-up actually deserves 6/5! Sound quality and balance is a bit disappointing, certainly worse than expected for the price tag. It's not all doom and gloom, still much better sound quality than the average R2000 gaming headphones for sure. I have used this headset for just over 100 days now. Tested it with various devices (DACs, Amps, soundcards etc).
I would recommend this headset if you are a serious gamer or plan to use this for VR. I would not recommend it to someone that wants great gaming features and entry-level audiophile sound quality in a single headset. I also would not recommend it to someone that plans to use it for hours>10 daily. - I can't hear my wife anymore - Chad, 3 January 2019
She's trying to lower my review due to the exceptional sound isolation, I'm keeping it at 5 stars.
The sound quality is phenomenal, add the GSX 1200 amp into the mix and I don't see the point in using anything else.
- I have never heard sound like this - Garreth, 8 May 2018
This is by far the best sounding gaming headset I have ever owned.
I enabled Dolby Atmos for gaming, and the spatial awareness these headphones give are eSport ready I reckon.
I would highly highly recommend these. - Gaming Headset with Epic comfort - Alwyn, 18 April 2018
Definitely the most comfortable headset I've ever worn with superb sound & build quality. Sound isolation is ridicules and you can easily get lost in the impressiveness of music or gaming. The fact that you can adjust the pressure points on the headset is unique and this feature can definitely be used on your VR headset for sturdiness. Overall this is one serous device and is definitely in my recommended list. Also see this link for more reviews of this headset - youtube.com/watch?v=dvDLCpMo8ls
