- Great headset and service! - Willem, 8 February 2023
I got my delivery on the date they specified which was no more than 2 working days from the delivery was sent out, and the headset is great quality and was delivered in a good condition.
- Uncomfortable and average sound - Matthew, 6 July 2021
I recently got a pair of these and although I think the aesthetic of these cans is top tier, I honestly could not get them to sound decent, out of the box they sounded worse than my old Krakens in the mids and highs and even after adjusting the EQ settings they still didn't sound quite right (admittedly the bass is not bad) but as for overall vocal clarity it just wasn't there for me.
The convenience of having wireless is of course a positive and the range is not bad, I found I could walk to the kitchen which is a good 10 or so meters away with walls in between and still pick up sound and mic. I watched a ton of reviews and what have you about the headset as well and I didn't really heed the warnings about how uncomfortable this headset is for extended gaming sessions. I found myself constantly trying to shift the headset around to try and have it sit comfortably but to no avail.
I know a lot of people have had good experiences with this headset but please do not ignore the people saying how uncomfortable this headset can get especially if you spend a lot of time at the pc or console. Supposedly these comfort issues were fixed with the new XT version but currently it doesn't seem like any tech store in SA is stocking them.
On another note though, Wootware's service was fantastic as always, super fast to get the product delivered, always helpful and quick in their responses and overall it's a always a pleasure dealing with them.
- Excellent - Anthony, 2 July 2021
Great audio right out of the box.
The iCue software has improved over the last year. For me it works fine without any issues.
Battery life is great, as is the wireless range.
The mic is great. Another review got it right, my discord friends say they can hear my soul now.
It's a large sum of money but well worth every cent. - THE GOAT - Chris, 27 May 2020
Seriously these headphones are the greatest of all time! I read the reviews, and read what they are, but nothing can prepare you for the level of quality here.
- Really premium - Cheslyn, 21 May 2020
I like feel, features and sound of the headset. Really premium. Good wireless connection, works 100%. The standard EQ isn't that great, but very customisable.. Great buy on my part.
- WOW, Amazing, brilliant. - Japie, 14 May 2020
This must be one of my best buys that I've ever made for peripherals. everything works well with clear brilliant sound. I'm able to use this with a audio cable, usb and wireless. Even with my phone or on a plane with the audio cable. Seriously good buy. Price is fair.
- A worthy headpiece - Marthinus, 6 March 2020
I upgraded to the Virtuoso from the Corsair HS70 Wireless Headset (and prior to that the Logitech G930 Wireless), so many of my deductions and comparisons are based on it.
Pros
-The best pro-so-far is the quality of the Microphone. If you intend on streaming without getting a separate proper microphone, this one will definitely do.
-The Mic indicator is also super cool, and supports RGB because why not :P
-Top-notch audio quality that gets even better when using the headset in wired mode.
-The wireless range is buffed from the HS70
-Comfortably long Battery life
-Auto sleep that actually works, and wakes properly when you pick up the headset. (I keep mine on a 10 min sleep timer)
-Good headset weight and clamp force and build.
-The ear-pads are soft wand comfy
-Corsair software now allows Dolby audio!
Cons
-I reckon the increased audio quality has lowered the max volume the headset can use. I tend to use the headset at about 65% volume on average, whereas I only had to use the HS70 at 45-50% volume for the same level of not too soft or too loud audio. 100% volume is not over deafening compared to other headsets I've used.
-A slightly shallower ear-cup style compared to the HS70. I notice discomfort quicker but readjustments are easy on the ear.
-the included USB-C cable causes noise interference on the mic and headphones when rubbing against clothing. I recommend getting a smooth cable to use the headset in a wireless fashion
-the side lighting is SUPER bright for headphone standards, however, it can be set in the iCue software to be much better. But when they are being charged from a PC that is off, the lights are in the default bright as heck mode. * I think that this will be fixed in a firmware release as per a forum update by a corsair employee
Verdict: These are awesome headphones. The audio quality leaves you swooning and the mic leaves other people in discord awestruck. If you can afford the more hefty price tag that these ask for, then do spoil yourself. Otherwise, for half the price, I'd strongly recommend the HS70 - Best Corsair headset! - Yaaseen, 7 February 2020
Comfort, clarity and quality all rolled into one package. Simple to set up, but take note that you will need to install Corsair's iCue software should you wish to adjust the EQ or the RGB lighting.
The headset, while very comfortable is on the smaller side, so those with a larger head may feel a bit more of a squeeze, but by no means does this mean it is uncomfortable. I was able to get through the Lord of the Rings extended edition without issue.
The sound quality is superb and the bass output is reasonably solid and not over the top (which I prefer). The bass can be changed with the EQ, but I found that pushing the bass too high causes the overall sound to become muddy.
The quality of the detachable mic was excellent. It picked up my voice clearly without picking up too much of the background noise and the mic has a helpful LED indicator on it to let you know when the mic is active and when it is muted.
I found the battery life is pretty decent as I was able to go 20 hours between charges.
Overall, quite satisfied with the purchase!
