I bought one of these primarily for gaming and it has seriously impressed me. No noticeable ghosting or any similar lag; bright, vivid colours, and a user interface that is definitely the easiest I've ever used. I did a bunch of research before making the purchase and the reviews on the net don't lie: This is a beautiful, high performance screen for the money you're paying. At this pricepoint, you really cannot make a better decision.

The size of this monitor is in my opinion the ideal size for gaming. At 24 inches it is already slightly larger than the majority of monitors in this category (mostly 23 inch). It's big enough so that you can fit everything on screen at once, but not so big that you have to move your head or eyes to take in everything that's happening - perfect for gaming. The extra 100 or so pixels really does make a difference.

For me, the star of the show is the stand. It is by far the best stand of any monitor I've owned before or currently. The best feature in my opinion is that the stand offers full tool-free height adjustability - simply grasp the monitor and gently move it up or down to the desired height, and it gently locks itself in place. The screen can also be angled to either side without the stand itself moving, and you can even rotate the screen vertically if you want to. The stand is heavy enough and solid enough so that there is no movement of the screen while you use your desk, which is a fantastic change over most flimsy 'minimalist' stands used by the likes of LG and Samsung. The stand includes a cable-management hole through which you can run all its cables to keep things neat, and the stand detaches/attaches to the screen itself via a push-release mechanism. Included in the box is a sort of USB extension cable that provides power and data to the 2 USB ports on the monitor. Personally I don't need them as my keyboard already has a USB hub but I can see it being useful for people using this in an office/work environment. Also worth noting is that the back of the monitor, when detached from the stand, has VESA mounts, incase you'd rather fit the monitor to an external arm/wall mount apparatus. This is a really neat touch which is important for enthusiasts and yet it is one that the Koreans have totally neglected for many years.

The drivers for this monitor are included in Windows 8 so if that's your OS, you don't need to do any additional work to get it running at its full resolution. Bonus.

The overall impression of this monitor is pure class and value. The vertical portion of the stand is finished in a Satin silver paint, while the bezel in particular is finished in a luxurious matte black that is not noticeable to the eye while gaming. I can see this monitor making the perfect partner in a dual or multi display setup.

Summary: Highly recommended for gamers and professional use and at this pricepoint, you will not find a better buy at this point in time.

I absolutely love this monitor! I'm a professional full-time wedding photographer so you can imagine it counts to have a decent screen. The Dell's colour and contrast are incredible and most importantly accurate with prints done at the lab.

I love it's resolution as well because it fits Lightroom on it enough to not feel too small and enough not to feel too big either. I'm sure Photoshop will be the same.

Beware the LG: I tried a LG E24MP55HQ because of the great reviews. I couldn't stand the it, perhaps it was the copy I'd received. I found it to have a "misty" feel about it, probably due to a rather awful contrast (which didn't seem to change even with adjustment on the monitor itself) to top if off it had a brown hue to it even after calibrating with a spyder2pro. I also found it to be duller in colour compared to prints... in other words it' wasn't accurate.

I acknowledge this could have been me being impatient and not taking the time to tweak it but I've never had to tweak even cheap TN monitors so the poor LG was dead in the water from the get-go.

The slightly extra money spent on this monitor was well worth it!

I use them for gaming as well as software development.

Very very happy with them. They hold up well with all the games I have played and are perfect for development with their resolution and aspect ratio.

The monitor is great - I really wanted a 16:10 aspect ratio for that extra space and after reading many reviews & finding this on wootware it was the right choice. The stand is real nice & adjusts very easily, and the OSD is probably the easiest I've ever used.

Personally I don't mind the anti-glare coating as I'm used to it on my laptop, & I actually prefer the matt look as opposed to the shiny gloss look. Viewing angles are good, the quality is great...very happy with this monitor.

Had the screen for almost a week and it's a huge improvement over my 5 year old TN proline 22" widescreen. Overall I'm happy and would buy it again from wootware
