The sound quality is really great with the included sound card. Micro usb cable is short, so if you plan on not placing the soundcard next to your USB port, then buy a longer one.

Really great sound. Easy to install and update. Everyone I speak to on discord notices my voice sounding better over the calls. Great deal with really exceptional hardware.

Note that this is a big step up in the middle of the range headsets. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the build quality of the headset and its performance. Top notch Sennheiser sound. The sounds are strong and precise. But not crazy base that hurts my ears after a long round of gaming. Somehow, the sounds are softer on the ear. The fit is very comfortable. And because it isn't wireless, it's very light. I chose the closed-back because I exclusively play online fps games. It works on both PC and console. Two things: 1. Please note that it has two 3.5mm plugs (no USB) - so stereo only. 2. Because it's a closed-back, you'll hear your own voice almost echo in your ear as you talk, and it'll sound annoying at first (not loop-back sound - so it's instant – which is much better) because it pretty much blocks out any outside sounds. But I got used to it and don't notice it anymore after just a couple of days. If you want a more spacious feel, and you don't only play fps's, then consider the open-back version. I believe it's better for other gaming formats and has more open field type of sound and better for the audiophiles out there. But don't quote me on that. The mic is great (none of my online friends have complained yet). I also bought the external sound card bundle on the special to convert the 3.5mm stereo to USB and 7.1 surround sound. To be honest, the stereo is so good, that I'm only using it in stereo now. I struggled at first to get the EPOS Gaming Suite going. But Wootware discovered that I was using an old version (which I downloaded from the EPOS website!). But Wootware discovered a different upgraded version (also on the EPOS website). And it working now. A beef with the GTX300 sound card is that it comes with a USB cable with a micro-USB plug (not Type C) that doesn't fit snuggly into the back of the unit and wiggles around a little and worried me that it would eventually damage the input port. Expected better from Sennheiser. So, I found an old Huawei USB cable that I had lying around and that clips nice and solidly into the back of the device. Overall, very happy and impressed with the devices and top notch Wootware service and assistance as usual.
