The board is great. Great functionality for an a520 chipset. Run my Ryzen 5 4500 .1ghz more than the rated 4.1ghz advertised on the box and VRM temperatures are always stable. Plus you get bios flashback.

Recently had lots of issues with CPU compatibility. Very happy with this product, as it has the flash back button for updating bios without hardware/display.

Wootware's turn around time was exceptional as usual. And I ended recieving the product a day early! Thanks Wootware

Review for basic users:

This board is a step up from other basic A520 boards, in term of build quality and components used. It will probably last longer and be more stable than other brands which are slightly cheaper.

For advanced users:

Note there is NO overclocking out of the box with latest bios and your CPU will respect default settings. In my case with a 5700X this resulted in stock TDP 65 W, PPT=76W max, EDC 90A, TDC 60A. No matter what settings (PBO) you put you cannot get these higher (unlike say a X570 board). This will limit your all core boost significantly vs a 5800X. This can be circumvented with the older F10 bios (flash from within bios Q flash not windows). This bios ignores PPT limits and will allow you CPU to fly high, eg, all core boost of 4.65GHZ! Now my 5700X with A520M board is equal to 5800X in X570 boards with PBO on, per my own benchmarks. You still cannot increase the multiplier over that, unless you do a BCLK overclock which is unstable. You WILL require epoxying heatsinks over the VRMs and placing a large fan blowing onto the VRM. This will keep the VRM at 80deg, without it you will go over 115deg which is not good long term. The good thing the EDC of 90A is still respected to avoid frying your board.

I got this for a media PC.
First off, being able to flash your bios without a CPU should have been compulsory all along on ryzen boards if this "cheap" one has that feature.
The gigabyte bios is nice to use. It has RGB headers for when I decide to add RGB backlights to the TV.
No problems, no fuss. 10/10 Would recommend at this price point.

The problem was diagnosed correctly, did not know that a modern cpu might not post on an slightly older mainboard with an older bios... incredible.

This board provides fantastic value for money and has a very nice UEFI setup. It accepted my 3000 MHz XMP memory profile with a Ryzen 5 3500X and ran stable.
