- Monster FPS, insane cooling - Roan, 7 July 2025
Previous card was a XFX RX 6950 XT and this gets a lot more performance while also running much cooler, probably due to the vapour chamber, because it does draw quite a bit more power.
- Team red all the way - Camryn, 9 January 2025
So far I have been very very happy with the card and its performance. The box it was shipped in was also well protected. Thanks Wootware for taking the time to properly package all my hardware.
Heads up to potential buyers.
The support bracket this card comes with adds almost a full 20mm to the length of the card. I didn't know this and ended up having to move my radiator just to fit the card in properly. (and then hated how it looked and bought a new case)
Otherwise I am happy. - Worth every penny - Hein, 4 November 2024
After some basic configuration my HDR and colors have never looked this great, free sync and free sync vrr is amazing with this card, have all the games I have played over 144 fps with ultra settings
- VRAM for days - Daniel, 27 July 2024
I'm a 1440p gamer coming from an 8GB 3070. I can finally play games maxed out while still watching a stream. Also nice not needing to update drivers every second day. Happy with the switch to the red army.
- AMD XFX 7900XTX - Beyond expectation performance and value for money - Morné, 25 July 2024
The AMD XFX 7900XTX has performance beyond what one should expect. Add to that the value for money it offers and you have a winner.
This card is able to run ALL games beyond 1440p-4K resolutions, at high (above 80+) FPS. Add the additional technologies such as frame generation, FSR3.x etc. and high FPS is the reward.
Drivers are stable, and the AMD Radean software is excellent in managing your games and settings.
True value for money = AMD Radeon!! - RX 9700 xtx - Alex, 28 April 2024
i had a GTX 970 for 9 years as my first PC, i was limited with so many games, my RX 7900 xtx is a beast, play any game on highest graphics with 100 fps plus
- Monster - David, 1 December 2023
Monster of card , maxing out all my games to 144 at 4k. Also managing with Ray tracing in Forza and some other games and still getting 144fps. Absolute monster , im very very happy with this card
- RX 7900 XTX - Quintin, 13 November 2023
I am pleasantly pleased with this GPU. Used to playing Steam games on Low-Medium settings, with this GPU everything is run on EPIC without any lag and bonus of massive high frame rates!!!
- This card makes me CPU limited! - Kyle, 17 October 2023
This card handles anything I throw at it but I'm severely CPU limited now.
So if you've got a weaker CPU you should definitely be upgrading that before judging this card.
I don't think the card is very stylish/"cool", but it's a clean look regardless.
Temperatures are great, although summer will be the true test.
The Adrenaline software offers much more than geforce experience but is a bit odd with some options turning off other options without explanation. Chill (limit FPS between X and Y dynamically) is probably my favourite feature.
To be perfectly honest, I haven't been completely crash free with this card, but then again neither are my friends using nvidia.
Finally, there will always be nvidia features you can't use. It's a fact that they have the large majority of the market share and people/games are always jumping on the latest buzzwords. - One beast of a graphics card! - Cassie, 20 September 2023
I was on the fence going with AMD and man I'm so glad I pulled the trigger this card combined with the 7700x at 4K Ultra settings runs like a dream. With no upscaling on Starfield, I hit 90 - 110 fps constantly. on Witcher 3 with FSR set to quality and ray tracing to max, I get 75 - 90 fps. With Ray tracing disabled I max out my monitor at 4k 144hz. Highly recommend this GPU
- Amazing Service! Amazing Product! - Daniel, 21 August 2023
This card is powerful, And the service from Wootware is amazing. The courier guy who did the shipping is also a first class organizaton. Happy with my purchase, the support received and would highly recommend.
- BEAST - Jacques, 29 June 2023
I don't know why poeple still insist on getting Nvidia in todays day and age. This GPU is a BEAST. I play all games at 4K Ultra settings. I could not care less about ray tracing. It looks nice for 2 minutes but as soon as you actually start playing any game it is pointless. Love this card and will be keeping it for at least the next 3 years. It runs quiet and never above 70 degrees. Comes with support bracket because you will need it. This GPU is huge. Not 4090 size but big.
- Excellent - Deeman, 2 May 2023
I've had this card since launch. I am a Linux user primarily but I wanted to test this cards performance in Windows. I spent around 4 weeks with it on Windows 11 and had no issues whatsoever. I didn't have any of the issues that other people were having. I ran all my games at max settings on a 32:9 1440p monitor - all above 100fps(for the lowest) with no FSR.
Switching back over to Linux the card is rock solid. Driver and game support is incredible and a noteworthy upgrade from my 6900XT with more performance improvements coming throughout the year.
Overall a solid card and one I am not regretful for at all. - Excellent - Adriaan, 5 April 2023
VRAM is the hot topic these days and the sentiment online has changed quite a bit lately in favour of AMD cards with their higher VRAM - especially this one.
This is the card to get unless you want to fork out nearly double for a 4090.
This XFX 7900 XTX is cool, quiet and no crashes or any issues to date.
Note:
This card is not good for VR, nor hardware encoding of videos - atleast until there's more software support for it.
Wootware managed to deliver significantly faster than expected and the packaging was excellent.
Top experience. - Great with a bit of sag - Stefan, 18 January 2023
The card works great! Big and I couldn't be happier with the results. Coming from Nvidia there was a driver challenge but thats part of the territory. The anti sag bar does not do such a great job but without it it would have been a disaster. Traditional mounting of the card is not recommended unless you add additional support. Making use of a riser cable would be much better and will be my next project.
- Amazing - The Chosen One, 16 January 2023
Upgraded from a 6-year-old GTX 1080 8GB and this card's performance has been incredible. Being able to run most of my games at the highest graphics settings, while having over 140 FPS at 3440x1440 is a great experience, especially combined with a FreeSync Premium Pro monitor. The card's stock configuration provides about a 7-10% performance boost over the MBA RX 7900 XTX, and depending on the game, overclocking can give you another 10% on top of that. The card in stock configuration will run at around 70°C GPU temp, with 76°C Hotspot temp, but this is due to a very limiting stock fan curve. The stock fan curve only starts activating the fans when the GPU hotspot hits 70°C. Adding a manual fan curve will make the hotspot sit in the mid to high 60°C range, while also being extremely quiet.
Few things to keep in mind if you're interested in buying this card. The card is quite long at over 340mm, so make sure to have a case that's got sufficient space. The card takes around three slots without the Z-Bar mounting bracket, and 4 slots with it installed. The card in stock configuration uses up to 390 watts at 100% load, and overclocking the card will pull up to 450 watts. Ensure you have a sufficient power supply to power the card and your system. Although not a requirement, investing in individually sleeved single PCI-E 8-pin power supply cables will tidy up the cables running to the card. Most PSUs only come with dual PCI-E 8-pin cables, and with the card needing three 8-pins, you might have an 8-pin dangling around the GPU.
I've had the card for over a month, and have so far been lucky enough to dodge all of the issues plaguing the launch of the RX 7900 XTX. The XFX RX 7900 XTX Merc 310 offers an incredible amount of performance for this price range, and I look forward to seeing how AMD will bring improvements to the card over the year, especially with FSR 3 coming later in the year.
