- A Good Mouse - Tactile and Responsive - worth the investment. - Marco, 8 July 2026
Before this mouse I had a Steelseries Aerox 5 Wired, which I disliked due to mushy mouse clicks, a mushy scroll wheel, detection issues with the scroll wheel, and how easily dust got trapped in the "open" design for the sake of a ultra-lightweight mouse.
I was looking for a replacement and the older Logitech G502 Hero is the worlds top selling mouse and the most popular one on Wootware. Did some research and there were a lot of reports of the mouse click 1 and 2 wearing out over time and causing double clicks or miss clicks. I found that the G502 X, which is basically the newer model, addresses these issues with it's opto-mechanical switches.
The G502 X is essentially double the price of the older G502 Hero, at first I was skeptical but the reviews looked good and I wanted to buy a mouse that wasn't going to start having issues a few years in.
I was pleasantly surprised by the G502 X and the increased price feels worth it. Very tactile/responsive clicks on the mouse 1 and 2 buttons as well as the scroll wheel both for rolling and clicking. My first time having a "infinity" scroll wheel which is really nice. The weight feels good and the shape fits my larger hands quite well. The side thumb buttons feel good and tactile. I am however not a fan of the "DPI Shift" button for the thumb, luckily the DPI Shift button is only attached with a magnet (securely) and Logitech includes a swappable piece that blocks out the button and fits seamlessly into the thumb groove. Logitech also highlights the new "PTFE Feet Pre-Fitted" on the G502 X, and the mouse glides really well and easily on my smooth mouse pad.
The thumb groove also helps that your thumb never drags on the mouse pad, which is a really nice feature for me.
I do enjoy the fact that Logitech made the same G502 X mouse in the 3 variants and you can pick one according to your needs and budget. The wired/no-RGB model is much cheaper than the 2 other variants.
G502 X = Wired, no RGB, cheapest model.
G502 X Lightspeed = Wireless, no RGB, more expensive.
G502 X Plus = Wireless, RGB, most expensive
A few Cons:
The mouse 1 and 2 clicks and the scroll wheel are quite loud and sound very "plastic-y", this doesn't bother me much but this could be a concern for others.
The Logitech G-Hub software is not great. I only use 1400 DPI but the software has 5 preset DPI settings and doesn't allow me to disable the others or set all the settings to the same DPI value, which leads into the next point.
I disabled the "DPI Up" and "DPI Down" buttons that sit next to the mouse 1 button in the software as I won't be using them, but somehow they still change your DPI setting if clicked, even after I reinstalled the software and driver, and tried the onboard memory mode and without. Not a major issue, just don't clicks those buttons, but it is an annoyance.
Would've given it a 5 star if the software was better.
And as always, great service from Wootware. They have always been my preferred shop for PC parts/accessories/electronics/laptops and I recommend them to everyone.
- Review of the Logitech G502 X Gaming Mouse (Wired) - Abubakr, 9 February 2026
I love it. The mouse is good quality. The packaging is good quality.
The mouse is not too loud (like I expected after watching a review), fits my palm nicely. I have no complaints. - It's a Logitech - Biscuit, 29 June 2023
After owning the G502 which had a couple of issues after many years of use. I wanted something different and the G502X brings some well needed changes. It definitely feels more comfortable than the G502; doesn't have weights and no fancy RGB; served no purpose to me. It does feel like they've addressed much of the Technical Issues that plagued the G502 after many hours and years of use. It's a refresh of a best-seller; can't get any better than that.
- Good mouse, but I'm disappointed. - George, 1 May 2023
I had the G502 previously, and compared to that, this has no braided cable, no adjustable weights, no RGB, and a weirdly placed DPI LED indicator, not visible when holding the mouse (it's located in front of the mouse wheel and has got unadjustable ugly colours).
The right mouse button on mine also has a different weird sound when clicked compared to the left, but I suspect that's just this specific mouse.
I really wanted to like this mouse, but I paid almost twice for this than what I paid for the G502 3 years ago, and I feel it's over-priced with the bare minimum of features. I'm just hoping the fancy new switches lasts longer then the G502's, which started the dreaded double-click fault after almost 3.5 years.
