Alienware AW2724DM 27" WQHD (2560x1440) 180Hz 1ms Fast IPS Anti-Glare FreeSync Premium Pro Black Gaming Desktop Monitor

Great colors out of the box, viewing angles and next to no ghosting. With it being an IPS panel the HDR dimming is very bad. I would not recommend using HDR on this monitor. I was aware of this when I purchased the monitor so it does not affect my overall experience. The software is great, some really cool overlays you can do on the monitor such as a crossair and "night vision". Again if you're looking for good HDR prefromance go for an OLED monitor.

I purchased this monitor after receiving my new PC (also from wootware). Coming from 1080p, this is such an improvement. Instantly noticeable. Colours were slightly warm initially however this was adjusted to preference. I was considering the woot monitor 1440p or the dell but decided to spend a little extra and get this instead and would recommend.

Alienware monitor box was not packaged in a generic brown box. So everyone around can see what is being delivered. This is not a good idea to deliver parcels like this in our country.

Great IPS monitor which has all the bells and whistles at a reachable cost. Been using it for over 2 weeks now without any problems. HDR is enjoyable on this unit, even if not on the level of a OLED/mini-LED. Screen gets bright, but not eye-searingly so.

Just some things to note:
- There will be IPS glow; as expected of the technology. It is however not noticeable during normal use.
- The bezels are ~6 mm wide, contrary to the site's advertisement images. (1 mm is the housing, and 5 mm is the panel)
- The monitor does come with a warmer colour profile out of the box, so will need some tweaking if you want more accurate whites.

For those upgrading from a conventional 1080p 60 Hz monitor, this will be a worthwhile monitor to go for if you want an 1440p IPS unit with no compromise. Looks great, works great. Happy with this purchase.

As someone who reads up a ton before parting with my hard earned cash, I am please to say that this was well worth the investment.

Not having tools to calibrate and colour test myself, I am very happy with the performance and feature display. Again, well worth the investment and great service from Wootware to provide an excellent product in next to no time.

Upgraded from an old 1080p, 60hz basic monitor to this. The difference is quite literally night/day. Great product overall, with fantastic visuals. Perfect for gaming and media content alike.

This Monitor will not be beaten at this price...Seriously this this excels at what is advertised, its feature rich and a beauty to look at, this is the perfect gaming monitor IMO there is no other monitor with this much going for it at this price. You will not be sorry for buying this.

“There will be trade offs. There will and you just have to accept which ones you are willing to live with” This is “spec mantra” we as enthusiasts have to contend with when buying certain items on the ZA market, monitors in particular.
My wish list (budget) was meagre: 1440p, 32 inches (maybe some curves or maybe a flat summer body panel), decent brightness, DP 1.4, a refreshing 144Hz and just maybe, some HDR goodness!

Well, compromise no more fellow enthusiasts, the Alienware AW2724DM is an absolute stunnah!!
1440p? Check. 32 inches? No, 27. But it is what Alienware does with those 27 inches that is impressive! It is just so crisp and clear, and I tell you that size is suited to a summer body flat panel. Who needs curves anyway? DP 1.4? Yebo yes. 144Hz, Unfortunately not, no…. but 180Hz!! Brightness? An eye of Sauron-like 600+ nits! And lastly, that HDR thingy. A resounding true 10bit, 1 billion colours of yes! I could not be more impressed or happier with this beautiful device. It really elevates every facet of your gaming experience. Thank you to the amazing team at Wootware for getting this shipped to me. Your service and efficiency is without equal, nay, legendary.

The Dell Alienware AW2724DM is a 27-inch, 1440p gaming monitor that offers good value for its price. Featuring a native 165Hz refresh rate that overclocks to 180Hz, this monitor supports all common VRR formats, including FreeSync and G-SYNC. It is equipped with an IPS panel and has fast response time and low input lag, making it excellent for gaming.

I've not had the oppurtunity to test the colour calibration, however similar to the Dell S2721DGFA, I feel it may not require any calibration - especially where gaming is concerned.

Over all impressed with the monitor and the added lighting at the back certainly helps with the gaming atmosphere.
