AOC CQ27G2 27" WQHD (2560x1440) 144Hz 1ms VA 1500R Curved FreeSync HDR Gaming Desktop Monitor

This is my first 140hz screen so not really an expert. Happy with this one with one caveat - colours can be a little bit duller than I'd like (but not hugely so).

Phenomenal monitor for the price and is super easy to assemble. It does come with an HDMI and Display Port cable so no need to buy that extra as well. The setup is very simple to get it too 144hz as well. The colour is not as vibrant as that of an IPS but can be tweaked enough to get what you need. Super happy with my purchase and the delivery was also very prompt!

If you are in the same boat, rest assured it is not a waste of money.
The monitor is great value for the money, so far it has been an enjoyable experience.
Understandably at this price point it is not perfect and there is a bit of light bleed on a black screen if you are viewing in a dark room/at night. I will add that while you are playing games you do not see any light bleed whatsoever.

All in all a good purchase and I can reccomend the screen.

If you are someone who has been using a 1080p 60hz monitor for years you will be very pleased with this one! Games look and run amazing with my 2700x and 2070 Super. I shall be using this monitor for years to come and I cannot recommend it enough.

Really good monitor for gaming. Brightness is good, viewing angles are good for a VA panel, it doesn't feel cheap, it's sturdy. Only downside to the monitor is that it is not G-sync compatible which isn't that big of an issue for me.

Rated as one of the best 1440p 144hz monitors for the price.
VA panel means great contrast (I believe it's a samsung panel).
Colour saturation isn't bad at far angles.
Good connectivity.
Download the driver to get the colour profile which looks perfect to me.
I'm using it with a 23" monitor and my laptop and they're working well together.
It looks amazing.
Very adjustable. Admittedly I find it awkward to carry because it has so many adjustments (e.g. picking it up by the base of the screen and it raises up).
Using it with my old GTX970 for now. Getting good frames at 1440p with some games and not seeing any tearing or anything.
Screen is very bright for me, but I have sensitive eyes. I think I'm using about 30% brightness.
The HDR 400 modes look good. It's not full HDR, but it's better than nothing. I couldn't find a full HDR monitor in SA with these specs.
Flicker free and low blue light filter. After a week of use for work and games, my eyes are happier.
1440p looks really good, I wish I'd made the change sooner.

I was a bit worried when some people complained about the low brightness but I was surprised that it is still pretty decent. Yes, the brightest settings are not comparable to some other brands but I am currently using it on 45% contrast and 65% brightness, I have not felt the need to go higher than that.

The blacks are deep, which I really like and the overall quality is very good. Even playing games on medium settings at 1440p looks better than playing ultra settings on 1080p, I was quite surprised. The 144hz refresh also works perfect in all games I tested so far. If you are coming from a 1080p monitor then this is a perfect choice, you wont notice a big improvement if you buy the much more expensive 1440p options out there.

If you're looking to move to a 144hz screen this is a great purchase. It has everything you want in a good screen - 1ms response time, great contrast ratio, high resolution and a really nice aesthetic to it. I did a lot of research before purchasing and it's hard to find this good of a screen at such a good price.

Nice and fast, awesome gaming with the 144hz refresh rate, however a DARK screen....be careful if your game of choice has a lot of dark elements. I like to play CS GO and the darker maps are super hard to see the enemy. Bright maps are no issue.

I had previously heard very good things about AOC monitors and recently decided to upgrade to this one from a 24 inch 1080p display.

You're getting a high-quality monitor at an excellent price. The build quality is excellent: it's very sturdy with the ability to rotate and adjust the height of the screen.

Personally, I am a fan of the curved display: the increased sense of immersion is very noticeable, especially when gaming.

On the topic of gaming: this monitor makes gaming so much more enjoyable for me and I feel like I'm a better gamer because of it. Here's why:

The 144hz refresh rate means you experience so much more of the action on screen and it's a lot smoother. This has the interesting effect of making movement seem slower, which means you're able to react to things faster and more accurately. Combine this with the monitor's support for adaptive sync and you've got yourself a solid, low input lag experience.

The higher resolution and larger monitor size means you see more of what's going on. This is especially useful in FPS games where being able to view things at a distance is key. For online FPS gaming, this makes you a lot more competitive as well (if that's your thing).

The monitor's colour reproduction is excellent: everything just looks beautiful.

It's a fantastic monitor and I'd recommend it in a heart beat.

I know that price can change at any time but for R6000 this monitor is as close as you will get to a high end experience.

The monitor supports gsync via displayport if you have Nvidia's 441 driver or higher. The adaptive sync range is 48fps+ which is a bit disappointing since I am use to a gsync monitor with the full refresh range and LFC (low framerate compensation). I tried looking for smearing as its something VA panels are known for but I couldn't notice anything with the few games I played. Colours were beautiful from every angle that I viewed with blacks being somewhat deeper than my IPS panel. I did not try HDR as its HDR400 is far from the actual spec which is either 650+ nits on OLED or 1000+ nits on LED.

I recommend viewing the video over at hardware unboxed for their calibration settings.

HDR mode is simulated and not true HDR. responsive and games quite well. do not use this with a triple monitor setup with other resolutions, then it doesn't play well with others. good contrast ratios and deep blacks. a bit of LED bleed on the edges, but otherwise a good monitor for its price.
