This board is excellent value if you need a lot of I/O and a solid foundation to build a system on.
Everything about this board is brilliant, except for the WiFi - the MediaTek wifi modules have always been sub-standard and it's a pity this otherwise fantastic ASUS board is marred by just such a module.

Personally, I only struggled to get a working WiFi driver installed on Windows 11 (Aug 2024) - I had to get drivers off Dell or Lenovo (I forget which one worked) after trying dozens of versions from all over the web.

ASUS support basically told me to return the board because they have no local support, I'll quote their email response (after providing me with a link to the exact same driver I told them doesn't work):
"If even after the above procedures the situation of your product is not rectified, please contact the store where the product was purchased to be examined and sent for repair, as Asus currently does not have services dedicated to PC components in South Africa,peripherals/accessories or routers."

If you're buying this because it has WiFi, don't - get an alternative, or buy one without onboard WiFi and use an add-in card or dongle.
I got the WiFi working in the end, but during my searches I came across way too many posts complaining about disconnects and bad latency with this wifi module - so the jury is still out on long term stability.

Paired this with a 5800x3D and I'm thorougly impressed by this board, seeing that you cant overclock the CPU you still have the ability to tune the PBO to get the cpu to reach the 4.5ghz boost, do recommend not using the Asus auto overclock features and tune PBO and Scalar.

Been looking at getting this board for a while, and when it came back into stock I jumped on it - my order was handled quickly, professionally to the level I now expect of Wootware. Getting it shipped to me overnight was icing on the cake, too!

The board itself is a great buy for anyone on AM4 - great feature set and very good power management means good overclocking performance. Solid pairing for even the best AM4 chips.

I recently switched from the B450M Steel Legend to the B550 Plus WiFi 2 motherboard, and the difference is remarkable. Upgrading to an ATX motherboard from a Micro ATX has greatly improved my system's capabilities and expandability. It's been a worthwhile change that's enhanced my overall computing experience.

I needed an AM4 board with WiFi and at a discounted price this board offers relatively good value with nvme heatsinks, USB-C, decent LAN and enough fan connections to not require a controller in a budget build. I just wished they toned down the TUF paraphernalia.
