ASUS VG27AQ TUF GAMING 27" WQHD (2560x1440) IPS 1ms 165Hz Extreme Low Motion Blur HDR10 Gaming Desktop Monitor

Notes: The monitor is not 165Hz _stock_, but can be overclocked from 144Hz to 165Hz.

The base is very sturdy and supports the monitor very well. Another big plus is the monitor navigation buttons on the right hand side. Instead of the usual 'left/right/etc' buttons, you have a single 'joystick' button that can be used to navigate the menu with ease.

One down side is how long the monitor takes to 'wake up' from sleep mode. My Dell S2716DG's display comes on within a few milliseconds, while this monitor takes a few seconds to show any display. I'm not sure if it's due to me using the DPort and not the HDMI ... but, this is the only draw back currently.

I also had to fiddle with the colour/brightness settings for a little bit to get it right for my eyes, but overall this monitor works very well for both gaming and work.

Once you switch to a 2k monitor its hard to go back! This coupled with the high refresh rate and HDR makes watching content, playing games and general browsing such a treat!

The stand is also great, with a good range of motion and orientation, and very easy to adjust.

Honestly loving this monitor after 2 weeks of use. At this price point its hard to beat, would highly recommend if you are in the market for a 165Hz 1440p IPS panel that features 1 ms response time as well as Freesync/Gsync compatibility.

The reason I purchased this monitor was to upgrade and why I chose it specifically was purely based on the features (27", 2k res, HDR, 144+hz refresh rate and G-sync) and the fact that it is so cheap compared to other screens of the same spec. Once it was setup and configured it correctly, I was, and still am absolutely blown away by it's performance and clarity. Even when not gaming. Coming from a 1080p 60hz screen, it is mind blowing and I feel 2k @ 27" is the perfect combo for desktop and gaming usage. I promise anyone considering upgrading from 1080p (if your machine can handle the upgrade), to go with this screen. Absolutely incredible.

So far so good with the screen. Having to play around to get a colour profile I like, but that is not to say the colour production of the panel is not good. Very happy in that regard. Excellent service from the Team at Wootware. Now just to save my cash to afford my first gaming rig (converting from console to the PC master race!)
