Great performance, I cant speak for the other X3D CPUs even though I've watched many benchmarks and know that not many CPUs can compare. I am happy I spent the extra bit over the 7800X3D even though I dont need it, yet.

Well it used to be the King, but comparable to the 9850X3D. You can easily OC up to 5.6GHz anyway, given you run a sufficient under volt with safe voltages. Happy with the purchase and Wootware has been on point with the delivery even after a slight snafu. Highly recommend.

This was a pretty substantial upgrade from my former CPU, which was an i7 10700kf. Right off the bat it performed excellently, allowing my RTX3090 to hit 90-99% utilization for the first time.

It was easy to tweak, even with the budget motherboard that I selected. It was a matter of a couple of hours to undervolt, overclock and stability test it - during which it performed solidly.

Not much to say, best gaming CPU on the market as of Jan 2026, my first AM5 AMD build paired with a X870E - there will be a launch of 9850x3d but I see negligible difference :) Very happy so far

This cpu really performs well out the box. With a slight undervolt its running cool with great performance. Don't hesitate, this is what you're looking for if you plan on gaming

It has improved gaming performance instantly. With a little tweaks you can lower the temps but maintain performance. Coupled with a RTX 3060 getting around 250fps on madden 26.

All I can say is, you get what you pay for... Never in my life knew gaming performance could be this smooth.
An absolute bomb of a CPU and one of the best investments I have ever made.

I bought this CPU for my gaming machine, so 90% of what it does is run games. This thing is an absolute beast! I have it paired with a Radeon 6900xt and I will need to upgrade my GPU now. GPU 100% while this coasts at 40%-50% utilization.

To be fair I bought the 9800x3d on a whim. In the majority of games I play at 3440x1440 on a RTX4090 I havent been able to see a difference in performance. I was hoping for improvements but I was also expecting no improvement.

Games that are more cpu limited will show an increase in performance like Guild Wars 2. A game like Cyberpunk, Titan quest 2 or expedition 33 will not show any benefits.

While the cpu is amazing its worth noting that depending on your graphics card, resolution and the game settings going from nearly any AM5 cpu will not show a dramatic improvement unless you are an e-sports enthusiast thats driving frame rate over anything else.

The CPU has blown me away of how good it is. It was worth every penny i spent on it. I can truly see the performance increase matched up with my 4070ti

Really, not much else to say since there are plenty of reviews out there. Originally since I work on quite a bit I was planning for the 9950x3D, this however has actually been chugging along just perfectly fine with all my tasks I throw at it.

Highly recommended for anybody who needs a powerhouse in productivity and gaming blend.

An excellent CPU with a very respectable showing in productivity workloads as well. Overall a great CPU which is easy to cool, and isnt too badly priced for what it offers, very well worth it for a future proofed build

Bought it November last year, and its a beast! Would recommend. Paired with 4080 Super, upgraded from a ryzen 9 5950x, huge gains in cpu bound games.

This is one of the best CPUs i have ever purchased, this CPU Beast out performs on every game iv thrown at it and paired with the RX 7900 XTX really out shines any other machine that i have played on.

I have Zero complaints about this CPU, it handles any task you throw at it, coming from a i7 13700k it was quite the jump and i get better frames in most if not all games, be sure to get a decent cooler, this CPU nearly touches the 140watt mark under load but to be expected from such a beefy CPU.

Upgrade from a intel i7 9700k to this. Shockingly impressive. If you can, buy this Little monster. Never in my life thought I would game on AMD. Glad I was wrong. Kudos to Woot, checking the Cooling pairing combo.

I was fortunate to be able to upgrade my system recently. I upgraded from my trusty, but old 6700k to the 9800X3D - night and day difference, like going from milk to whiskey. This is what you like to see when you run your system for a long time like I do. I ran my 4070 on the 6700k for a while and while this was an improvement over my old 1070, it was not running at its full potential. The AMD CPU has unleashed the 4070 in a big way.

Really, it's vile how good this CPU is. It runs ice cold, Ambient+10 at idle. x3d gaming performance, extremely stable clock speeds, this CPU does not yoyo at all, it's either at base clock or maxed out. Very stable even when running production tasks like rendering and AI.

If you are looking for the best of the best gaming cpu then look no further, this is honestly overkill but I absolutely love it, it can handle anything you throw at it and more.

I upgraded my 7 year old 8700k build paired with a 2080 and ddr 4 3600 ram. i decided instead of adding in a new GPU as i was struggling with stuttering in Bf2042 and demanding cpu games to upgrade to an am5 platform with this CPU.

Out of the box the packaging is very nice and the CPU is clearly demarcated with the corner indicated for the right installation orientation, instruction are clear and the product if of a high qualty.

the size of the surface area for heatsink paste is decent and of a very good construction.

Installation was a breeze, just make sure you line up the triangular corner correctly. on the Gigabyte eagle 7 wifi 870 board the corner indicator is embossed on the metal retention bracket surrounding the CPU.

once installed and up and running, the CPU boots into the bios for installation and boot order for the build, after installing os via USB, and setting up , i downloaded Nvidia drivers and shifted the display cable from HDMI onboard to the Dedicated GPU, no issues after that

If you are installing this from a USB, use the rear motherboard side USB ports, the Gigabyte 870 wifi does not like the dront side usb ports for some reason untill the os is deployed.

on cinebench R23 with the chip stock settings i hit 23300k .

temperatures on an air cooler ( ID Frozn a610 ) were very low and their heatpaste is actually very good idle at around 36- 38 degrees c and under load 70 - 83 C, under heavy gaming it runs at 68 degrees across all cores at 5.2ghz

the CPU is very fast and in gaming shows its true potential, paired with my older 2080 , the games are much smoother and the minimum and average frame rates are at least 15 - 20fps a map higher AND more stable, fluid gaming with no stuttering is something im not used .

Highly recommended CPU and a beast of a Gaming chip!

Lastly Wootware were fantastic and on receiving the Motherboard and upgrade components, they did a Bios update for the 9800 x3d and it booted and worked out of the box , a nice little touch , but customer service is at a very high level and certainly i will be buying from them moving forward

Upgrading from an I5 13600KF to the 9800X3D, the difference was immediately noticeable.
1440P maxed settings on Space Marine 2 and I experienced an average improvement of 40 fps. (RTX4080)

Power draw and running temps are surprisingly low. (Using a 360 AIO, which if I'm being honest is a bit of an overkill)

Major FPS improvements in COH3, CS, COD and Space Marine 2 as mentioned above.
