Got this instead of the newer Ryzen 7 9700X since it's not a significant upgrade at all over this. Runs quite hot but that is within it's design, it's not throttling and handles tasks and heavy games that are CPU limited with no issues. 100% recommend this over the 9700X

I have always went with INTEL and with a lot of research and looking at affordability - I went with the 7700x which I think is a center medium between the 7600x and the 7900x

Its a good CPU and its a good CPU for gaming in 2k with good refresh rates

This CPU is incredible for my needs of being a streamer and wanting to play high powered games all on the same pc. I was previously an Intel user and managed to scrape by on a budget build for streams and lower level / reduced settings game play but having this CPU along with its compatible counter parts feels like I have an entire separate build just for the streaming build into my current max performance setup! The power of an APU is one that you have to experience first hand to understand.

Runs very well paired with my RTX 4070 super. Does run hot despite having an 360mm AIO cooler cooling it, but it is normal. It doesn't run hot often, just under high load.

I think we all fall into the thinking that if you're not running the best and latest hardware you're missing out. Largly due to the amount of reviews we watch before buying a product if we're really doing our research. Yes there are other chips faster than this one but man, on CPU intesive workloads this piece of tech is fantastic. Gaming.. no slouch at all. You dont have to have the 7800X3D. This one runs hotter than the 7800X3D but chips are designed to withstand heat so don't let that deter you from buying it. Its a solid CPU for a lot less than the 7800X3D. Pair it with a 4070Ti Super/7900XT and you're golden.

Massive improvement over the 5800G, fantastic startup and loading times in games (mostly Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty so far).

Temps seem a little high (using an AIO cooler from BeQuiet!) but have yet to do a full benchmark.

I was on the fence with this 7700X combined with the 7900XTX that complements this build. I was scared it might bottleneck and it was between the 7800x3D and this one, the 7800x3D is better for gaming but if you want to save a bit and have great performance at 4K then go for this option. Wootware delivered the best customer service I have ever experienced to date.

The CPU is a beast, there is no doubt about it. It was a choice to upgrade my 5600x to a 58003d to stretch out the next 3 years or bite the bullet and go next gen and know that for I'm good for the next 4-5 years. I'm not disappointed with the CPU, Mobo or DDR5 ram but my wallet is not talking to me at the moment.

CPU is relatively overpriced compared to its predecessors. I started my AMD journey with the 3700x, then the 5600x and now 7700x. This one has definitley hurt the most.

Solid CPU for gaming, pairs with just about any card so no bottle necking. Arrived quickly from Wootware so really happy overall.

Can't complain at all about this CPU, kills gaming tasks and manages production tasks just fine. Was expecting middling 'ok' performance based off of reviews and benchmarks. But it has managed everything I have thrown at it so far. Was considering i7-13700K or waiting for the 7800X3D, but saved a buck over the i7 and wanted more of an allrounder compared to the more gaming focussed 7800X3D. Don't regret my decision at all.

Main reason why I think this CPU is good...with more powerful CPUs I think you are leaving performance on the table that you will never really need or use unless you have a 3090/4090. This CPU can handle anything you need to do. Rather spend the money you saved on a better GPU and with AM5 can always upgrade your CPU in future.

Honestly surprised on how powerful this CPU is. Gaming on it barely puts it under load. Still need to try out the eco mode to see what it does to thermals. But with a 360 AiO I'm having no thermal issue.

The CPU it self is heavier than it looks but built amazingly well. The new cut outs on the IHS makes applications of thermal paste a little tricky. A tip I can give is place masking tape, must be masking tape not other tape to avoid residue, just over the cut outs to leave only the actual IHS open. Apply paste. Remove masking tape and viola!
