I paired this processor with a ID-Cooling FROZN A610, and it runs very cool - peaking at around 70C after a few hours of burn-in.
Performance is great and the integrated GPU was exactly what I needed for the system I was building.
If you don't need a discreet GPU in a system, this provides much better performance than the iGPUs on offer by the other team.

I "downgraded" to this for general computing and web development work as I no longer do much AAA gaming so don't need a phat GPU, and a beefier CPU has few advantages for web development. I'm using this with a 27" 1440p monitor at 144hz.

With this move, my PC power draw has gone from an average of ~450W during gaming to a max of 150W.

The only issue that kept cropping up is the "black screen of death", which I traced to the GPU clock speed seemingly going too high which causes the PC to give up on life. Manually setting it to 1400Mhz alleviated the issue. Probably worth tinkering to figure out what the highest speed is that can be safely done.

This CPU is so fast it can study its calculations while doing them. Highly recommended. I would upgrade the standard included fan to something a bit stronger as under constant load for extended period of time it does run a bit on the hotter side.

I bought this CPU to replace my damaged Ryzen 7 3700x. I stupidly didn't do enough research and didn't see that the l3 cache is halfed on this model and only supports PCI-E 3.0

That was my bad, however the CPU has performed very well for me, Scored higher in some single core tests than the 5800x, I will most likely be upgrading again soon as I do want the higher cache and PCI support, But overall a good CPU.

If you don't need the onboard graphics I would rather suggest the Ryzen 7 5700x or 5800x

I love this APU, I am using it as upgrade over my 4750G and it is a significant upgrade. First and foremost is the built in graphics, which is perfect for me since I tend to play older titles like Xonotic at 4K. The Zen 3 based CPU cores make light work of any task. This is a deal so good there is little reason to even want a graphics card.

Benchmarks shows this APU in some cases beat the 5800x in single core and multi core performance, and in a lot of cases run circle around Intel's Core i7 and Core i9 line of desktop calculator processors. AMD really has kept the ball rolling and I can see what a huge difference it made upgrading from my 1700 to the new 5700G.

Got this on special for my new build and its doing to job for light gaming whilst we all wait for the GPU supply to come back.
Stock cooler included is great , a tad noisy but have ordered a Hyper 212 black edition for the long term. Important to keep CPU temps down low to improve longevity.

Super fun using the iGPU for Medium 1080p gaming.
Also runs great with a beefier GPU.

Current setup: ASUS TUF x570 plus (non WiFi), R7 5700g, phanteks ph-tc14pe, meshify C case and 5x Gamdias Aeolus M2 fans. I also have a 27" 4k 60hz monitor

I chose to go with the R7 5700g because of the powerful integrated GPU on the APU it was a cost effective decision i went with instead of going with a R5 5600x and a 960 GPU to use as a basic computer until I could get my hand on a GPU. I am able to run overwatch @4k medium (custom) with average of 40- 45 fps, valorant @4k high average 60 fps, warzone 1080p low average 30 fps, I would not recommend on a 27" display if on low settings... With all that being said i mainly play my games on 1440p LOW settings to gain a bit of extra frames so that I have less of a delay to what I see and do I capped my frame rate at 80 fps to avoid any serious screen tearing. My temps so far has not risen above 50°C yet even after playing on all games that were 4k able for about 2 hours while running discord 2 twitch streams and Spotify for some soft background music

If you want to use this for a budget build go ahead but don't expect to play AAA games at qualities it was made to be played at so even at 1080p low you might struggle and you wouldn't want to play at 720p.

Great CPU, 8 cores (16 Threads) is more than enough since I use it mostly for gaming but it runs Android Studio and Visual Studio perfectly so that really helps too.
