The 12100F offers the best price/performance ratio of any current CPU, by a significant margin. It's almost 3 times as powerful as a 4th gen i5, in case you were worried.

The cooler actually looks quite nice and gets the job done just fine. Temps have never gone past 80°C during normal use (normal being anything except Prime95). Not sure how far you'd get with BCLK overclocking.

If you're buying this for gaming, your GPU will probably be your performance bottleneck. Very happy overall.

My first Intel-powered build in 7 years and wow - this CPU packs a surprising punch, especially for the price. It leaves my old Core i7 6700K in the dust, uses less power and runs cooler. Thanks to AMD turning up the heat, we now finally have some healthy competition in the CPU space which is making PC building more exciting than ever.

If you need a CPU on the budget and 4 very strong cores are all you need, this is the one to get. AMD's "budget" offerings don't really make sense anymore due to how insanely well-priced this chip is. Bonus - this supports PCIe 4.0 which is extremely important for AMD's newest budget GPUs (such as the Radeon RX 6500 XT) due to their x4 lane design.
