- Nice case but quite a few oversights. - Doron, 25 August 2020
I bought this case looking for a small footprint which this case does quite well however there are a couple of things That didn't work so well. Heres a list of the issues I had.
1.The case doesnt fit the stock AMD cooler for 3700x its about 4mm too little room for the AMD cooler. So if you buy this case be prepared to buy a cooler as well. Which will have to be a very low profile cooler which is hard to find in south africa ( everyone recommends noctua nh12s in this but its impossible to find in SA.)
2. The top bit that opens for you to have cables plugged in, doesnt work with standard hdmi and Display port cables. They stick out too far from the slots on your motherboard/gpu. This means you have to either leave it permanently open or risk damaging your cables/ports to close it . I tried this with a couple of cables. The only workaround for this would be to get a 90degree display port adapter. Which again is incredibly difficult to find in SA.
3. if you setup the case upright. the usb 3 ports (which would normally be your front header) are at the back of the case , which means you cant actually see them and most likely need to stand up to access them .
4. If you get a motherboard with wifi antenna they will be in the top opening part again where all your cables plug in . This means that they will be surrounded by a metal frame on all 4 sides. This makes wifi signal fidelity an issue.
5. Perhaps only due to my motherboard layout MSI B450i itx ( cant recall specific model) But the front usb header cable routing means that you are almost guaranteed to twist either the cable itself or put pressure on your motherboards usb front header port. You also have the issue of your powersupply cables needing to me routed directly above the PSU through a tiny 4cm hole. this makes assembly and cable management a headache due to the positioning of the the 24pin power output. Theres a small magnetic cover that will not close on the case which is to hide the cables. The cables will push this away from the magnets unless you contort them and again put unnecessary pressure on the motherboard. The positioning of the GPU and motherboard means that if your motherboard has a rear mounted M2 drive. it will sit directly behind the GPU ( about 10mm space.) M2 nvme drives are generally known to not work well under high temperatures. You are basically sandwiching your nvme in between your gpu and back of cpu area which is probably the hottest part in your pc.
6. personal use case. I travel quite often for work for a few months at a time so I generally go for itx builds so that I can throw my desktop in a hand luggage bag and take it with me on a plane. This case is about 4 cm too tall to fit in the maximum allowed hand luggage bag. Which means if you need to take it somewhere you will have to put it into cargo which will almost guarantee something broken or damaged. This is just a personal use case issue though.
7. I had to trim the mesh on the side panels as it was badly cut/fitted so there were patches of loose mesh hanging around the edges. I dont think this is a common issue with the case possibly just a lemon on my side.
all in all I would not recommend buying this case unless you are following a tested build guide. And if you do buy it buy the one with the mesh sides because with the solid side panels this would make an excellent toaster or heater in winter. The airflow and cooling on the solid panel unit must be an absolute nightmare with any use above general office work. - would wholeheartedly recommend with the caveat that you plan your build - Jo, 26 June 2020
as a wootware product I would definitely recommend this, no issues with the case and it arrived within a week, and as a standalone phanteks product I would recommend with the caveat that as of june 2020 there isn't a lot of itx boards available in SA. And the GPU clearance needs to be taken into account.
- Simply Amazing Chassis - Lavi, 10 March 2020
Was recommended this case from an overseas friend, saw it was available locally for a good price and decided to take the chance and buy it. Man am i overwhelmingly pleased with everything about this case, from the Build Quality to the general design. I have absolutely no gripes with this chassis and would recommend it over anything i have tried for an ITX build.
- Perfect Case! - Jan, 4 March 2020
With a small footprint on you desk and very good airflow, this is definitely something too take a look at!
It takes a bit of research depending on you configuration, but if done well this case looks and performs amazing!
With a Ryzen 7 3700x and a RTX 2060 SUPER both air-cooled, on max sustained load for quite some time the Temps are around 70 to 75 deg Celsius for both the CPU and GPU.
For what it's worth, definitely one of my favorites!
