- Legendary CPU - Tiaan, 12 April 2024
Can't go wrong with this CPU at its price point. Using it for heavy 3D render workloads and intensive 3D games.
It should pair well with RTX 3050 or RX 6600 GPU's for stable 60fps gaming at 1080p. - Ryzen 5 3600 - Stephen, 9 August 2021
Substantial upgrade from my Ryzen 5 1600 and didn't need a BIOS update on my MSI B450M Motherboard!
Price of R4250, including VAT and delivery wasn't too bad considering the current shortage that is still going on!
Paired with my RTX 3060, I am now getting between 120 - 150 FPS in Warzone! Compared to my Ryzen 5 1600, I was getting between 75 - 95 FPS.
Great product, price and great service from Wootware! - Love the Ryzen 5 3600 - Morné, 30 July 2021
I've been a long intel fan and I can say with confidence, I'm not going back. Ryzen 5 3600 has been amazing. Didn't need anything super fancy, but for gaming and coding it's been a dream.
- Great intro to gaming pc - Werich, 9 July 2021
This CPU runs great, even when paired with an old-ahhh no swearing... With an old GPU (750Ti). The stock cooler that comes with is a little noisy, but then again it's free. Temps fluctuate quite a bit, but the cooler ramping up and down constantly means the cooler works atleast.
Would recommend this to anyone looking to build a decent midrange pc. - Bang for the buck, stock cooler inadequate - Barry, 8 July 2021
Lots of performance to be had from this CPU. The boxed cooler is not up to the job and the CPU will easily break 85+ celsius under standard loads. You'll need to undervolt and underclock it, and have the fan profile in performance mode to avoid shutdown protection kicking in.
I put a 120mm closed-loop liquid cooling kit on it and it now hardly breaks 70 celcius under heavy strain with an auto-OC profile. - 5 stars - Reshmeeka , 22 June 2021
Good product, good service
- Great Value For Money - Wesley, 1 June 2021
All the processing power needed to run my games at a decent FPS, also the included CPU cooler is more than capable of keeping everything below the thermal throttle limits. Very happy with this CPU.
- R5 3600 - Ryan, 10 May 2021
Wonderful product. Great upgrade from 1600. Runs abit hotter, but is alot faster. No issues installing on a B450 Tomahawk motherboard with the latest bios.
- First time build, awesome chip - Matthew, 9 April 2021
Dealing with Wootware has been a breeze, you guys will be my go-to store for anything computer related. Such a pleasure dealing with a company that makes good customer service a priority. 10/10 would recommend!
I don't know much about CPUs but my gaming experience has been flawless with this chip. I love it! - Not Fucking Bad - John, 6 April 2021
Actually, it was superb. I am more than happy with the product and the services. Next time I need to order, i will use you guys. The issue with swapping out the video card was understandable, bearing in mind the supply problems, and my only real complaint was I thought it was a little cheap of you guys to ship me the box with the "Euro" kettle plug, not the three prong South African version. I had to plunder my old UPS for a replacement. Otherwise, all good, thumbs up!
- Go Ryzen! - Lucius, 9 March 2021
If you have any hesitations about going with Ryzen instead of Intel, let me help you put those fears to rest.
I've been doing some processor heavy tasks recently and she's been purring like it's no thing. - Excellent mid range CPU - Kyle, 10 February 2021
Great CPU for the price. Just got it in combo with a RTX 3070 most games are running at 60+ fps at 4K. Does require more than the stock cooler if you want to run it at a safe temp level currently I have a 120mm Coolermaster AIO and it keeps it at about 75 -80 c under load but I would recommend something better if you want to overclock.
- Good and Ugly - Han, 7 January 2021
Not a bad upgrade if you upgrade from a quad core. How ever this is not getting 4 or 5 stars from me because I will be honest. The stock cooler is very disappointing and a waist of time and money, it strugles to keep the CPU under 70C and the fan revs up an down the whole time because it cant handle the CPU from getting hotter real fast. So you will struggle to get over 3.7Ghz for more than a few seconds on the standard fan I think it will be better to sell the chip without the fan for a lower price , than wasting our money and time.
My suggestion is to get a after market cooler from the start rather than later as you will most probably have to take out your whole motherboard to fit it later, so make sure you do it from the start and safe yourself a few frustrating hours.
The CPU is still good. - Bang for Buck - John, 30 December 2020
Cpu was easy to use with Ryzen Master software I downloaded afterwards.
Installed aftermarket CM 212 RGB black on it and it works flawlessly and much better than my old 3770k I used to have. - Highly recommended. No regrets. - HappyReviewer, 22 December 2020
Added aftermarket cooler to this (Phanteks) and it's working very well. Definitely better than my old rig. Highly recommended.
- AMAZING - Bruce, 18 December 2020
So done core upgrade from old FX CPU to this beast....score on performance test was 2661.8...its now 6402.3. got the asrock b550 steel legend, TeamGroup 3200Mhz 16gb kit and the Helix M.2 with this R5 3600. best money i spent. just trying to get the ram to run at 3200Mhz. stock is 2400Mhz. frame rate in Rust went from 60 max to 125max...havent checked other games yet.
but thanks to the Wootware team for all the help and awesome sales service yet again!
P.S. I think you sent me everyone else's bubble wrap ...send stamps and i will return HAHA - What more is there to say - Ashraf, 7 December 2020
This CPU performs admirably. Absolutely no issues and the stock cooler isn't too bad either. All the hype around Ryzen CPUs are warranted. Great test results and good for gaming.
- Super fast! - Shane, 25 November 2020
This was an upgrade to my Macbook Pro Retina 2015 and I am EXTREMELY impressed with the power for the price! It runs a little hot with the standard cooler but those temps are still way within the limits specified for the CPU.
- Great CPU, eh cooler. - Luke, 22 November 2020
Great CPU. My only gripe is the stock cooler.
If you care about noise and steady thermals I would suggest upgrading from the stock cooler. Mine hops around from 50 to 75deg like crazy at idle and gets up to 90ies under heavy synthetic load, 85deg while gaming. The stock cooler will keep it from throttling with no overclock, but I find it unbearably noisy and winy at all rpms. - Seems to be the current go-to CPU for value - Cheslin, 28 October 2020
Looks to be good quality. Excellent, speedy service from Wootware! Only reason I have not given 5 stars is that I have not used it much. 3500x SEEMS to be a decent alternative for older or even current games, but less so for productivity or upcoming games.
- One of the best Gaming and Productivity CPUs at an attractive price! - Grivin, 23 October 2020
With 6 cores and 12 threads this 3rd gen Ryzen CPU packs some serious power for its price. I enjoy casual gaming and I work with 3D modeling software and the Ryzen 5 3600 is serving me exceptionally.
- I love it. - Johan, 12 October 2020
I am brand new to pc building but this thing is amazing. My pc is fast. I even managed to OC it! Quite. Easy to install. I will be upgrading as soon as I can afford it to Ryzen 7 or 9.
- Just get one - Morne, 13 September 2020
Paired with a B550 motherboard and 3600 MHz memory and it hits the sweet spot for gaming and productivity. Really happy with how this CPU is performing, stock cooler is very capable of keeping this beast below the thermal limit under full load.
- Great value - De Pallier, 9 September 2020
Sweet spot in terms of performance in the Ryzen line up.
Paired it up with the B450 steel legend and the G.Skill Ripjaws 3200. Everything was working by default including XMP. Very happy. - Just Right - Braddon, 2 September 2020
Paired with a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX board, NVME and 3600 Ram and a 2060 super. Runs perfect for what I wanted. I set the CPU to run half speed until I load into a game/program, I can't feel it slow down at all for day to day things. I opted for a big chonky boi air cooler (I'm in quite a warm room) in games I've never seen it go above 65deg. Day to day at half clock is perfect, full clock ingame and I'm throttled by GPU anyway.
- Ryzen 5 3600 - Best Option for money - Barry, 24 August 2020
Super easy to install and runs like a beast !
Had no issues once installed and runs super cold . The fan supplied with box is a perfect way to start before you upgrade or overclock . - Great upgrade - Daniel, 14 August 2020
Got this as an upgrade over my 10 year old 2500K. Great upgrade for the price. Paired it with the B550 board for PCIE 4.0, which works pretty great with the SSD. Got a separate cooler, but could just as well have used the one in the box
- Amazed! - Wes, 29 July 2020
I have this CPU together with the ASRock B450 ATX mobo, and XFX Radeon 5600XT. So far i am impressed, and think AMD outperforms Intel. I OC'd to 4.00Ghz and my temperature stays between 40-50 (stock cooler replaced with Phanteks PH-TC12DX CPU fan).
I think this CPU is the best value for money whilst not sacrificing on performance at all. I don't think i would buy Intel again, i see no reason. - Affordable Monster - Altamish, 15 July 2020
Paired with 3600MHzCL18 RAM and an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, this processor has been tearing through video encoding and image editing workloads.
It also games brilliantly, with only the most demanding/unoptimised titles requiring a sensible dialing back of graphical settings.
I built my system with affordability and longevity in mind, and with the 3600 at its heart, can expect to work and game without compromise well into this decade.
The stock cooler may require an upgrade, depending on your usage, case and operating environment.
Highly recommend. - Great CPU - Ricahrd, 10 July 2020
I have bought the 3600 because I was running multiple Programms in the background and gaming. I had frame drops because of this with my i5 6400, it was running at over 95%. Now I can game in peace. I'm very happy with my purchase so far also the B450 was already on the right Bios, no update needed.
- Great for the price - Curtis, 18 June 2020
Great CPU for the price Stock cooler however is no good, definitely needs an after market cooler
- On time - Conrad, 12 June 2020
The product arrived on time and very neatly packed;)
- Ryzen 5 3600 - Timon, 25 May 2020
This CPU is much better than I expected. I bought this so I can get over 250fps in CSGO and to help me edit 4k Footage for work. It easily gets 350fps average and I can edit 4k Footage with no problems.
I had a Ryzen 5 1600 before this CPU. It Even works on my A320 PRO VD-PLUS Mobo. You just have to update bois. - 100% recommend - TRxy300, 23 May 2020
Outstanding performance for the price
- Wow... - Christiaan, 23 April 2020
So I was skeptical and very much so... but holy hell. Upgraded from a 2100 and I must say, this is a day and night difference and I am LOVING it. Be it CAD or Games, this CPU makes all the difference and definitely recommended. (just remember the bios update on previous gen boards)
- "Unbearable value for money" -Intel - Travers, 21 April 2020
Running this on a Gigabyte B450I MB. Had problems running XMP profile with my existing G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz ram so I stupidly purchased a pair of G.Skill Trident Z Neo 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz. Contacted Gigabyte who made the 51b bios update available for the board. Oddly the 3200MHz ram will still not run XMP (even though it's listed on the Gigabyte website as compatible) but the 3600MHz dims run at full speed (not listed on the site).
I'm able to OC this CPU to 4200 MHz (@1.4v) all-cores stable and cool thanks to the Castle 240EX AIO. Temps max out at around 71°C when pushed to 100% with a multi-core score of 3753 and a single-core score of 489 (1660 super ITX GPU) in Cinebench R20. Idle temps are around the 40-45°C.
The stock cooler is not an option if you are looking at getting max performance out of this CPU. AMD really should offer a cooler with a better TDP. My hunch is the only real difference between this CPU and the 3600X is the cooler.
Strange ram issues aside (the 3200 dims still work just fine on my old Intel board with XMP enabled), this thing is rock solid on the AIO and great value for money to anyone looking to upgrade. Intel can suck it for now. - LIL BEAST - Kendo, 21 April 2020
this is by far the best cpu for the price, 6 cores 12 threads in a compact package. the cpu has more than enough power for anything you throw at it and then some. this is the best purchase ever i7 for what? over priced cpus with no real innovation. this CPU is a 9/10 the reason it dont get 10/10 the cooler is by far its weakest part only thing holding it back from perfection. buying a better cooler from wootware best option fyi this cpu so good wont bottleneck any gpu even 2080ti
- Best gaming cpu on a budget - Jacques, 16 April 2020
Don't bother looking at the 3600x. This cpu is the same for less. No need to OC it. Most of the time you will get better results from stock clocks. This is the best CPU
- Nice and fast. Cooler is inadequate. - Julian, 14 April 2020
I would recommend a 3rd party cooler. I had to disable all forms of Turbo boosting as it is unstable with the stock cooler. Hitting 95C in games. Stays at 75C or below when locked at 3.6 GHZ
- Great CPU - Warren, 14 April 2020
First time using AMD and very happy so far.
Great CPU for running VMs and Gaming.
Runs fine with stock cooler. - Great Value CPU - Simon, 30 March 2020
First ever AMD processor and must the entire process went very smooth. Great bang for buck and easily overclocked out the box with built in MSI gaming mode (of my motherboard).
- Happy but warm - Benjamin (Sparky), 27 March 2020
Happy with this buy, benchmarks put it about in line with the Ryzen7 2700, but better!
Temps were a bit high off the bat... between 50-70 deg on idle?!
There are some things you can do to understand and fix this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/cbls9g/the_final_word_on_idle_voltages_for_3rd_gen_ryzen/
All in all, a good buy! - Amazing CPU! Thank you AMD - Channing, 25 February 2020
I purchased this CPU for a gaming-focused PC paired with a MSI Tomahawk Max (Motherboard) and Radeon RX 5700 XT (GPU). This CPU absolutely destroys literally everything you throw at it. It makes my current overclocked-to-the-limit Intel Core i7 6700K look like an absolute joke in comparison.
Gaming? Check. Content Creation? Easy. Programming and Compiling Code? Pfffft. Doesn't even break a sweat. All of these things at the same time? Literally doesn't care and chugs through all of it without bogging down. I actually sat down for a few hours just messing with this CPU to try and bring it to it's knees but I just wasn't able to with any real workloads.
Overall, I highly recommend this CPU. Don't even bother with Intel unless they can sort themselves out and actually release a decent product. - Probably Best bang for buck in Ryzen 3000 line-up - Adriano D, 3 February 2020
Great gaming and productivity CPU. Super low power consumption at 65W TDP. Really happy with the upgrade from the Intel 4670k Haswell processor. Big performance gains across the board. Would just say that while the stock fan is very capable at cooling the CPU effectively with no OC for me it didn't produce a very consistent fan curve. So if you have more fans inside your PC that you want to set up custom fan curves for defs go with a custom cooler as it will produce more consistent temperature increases and decreases which allow the fans to ramp up with less quick speed changes.
- Probably the greatest thing since Spray cheese. - Yung Groovy, 28 October 2019
This Chip is absolutely elite, The best value for money. I've never purchased something with so much bang for a fair and honest price. If you're thinking of another CPU or this one, choose this one..
- Great power for the money - Brendan, 23 September 2019
Bought this over the 3700/3600x, settled and got the 3600 with a x570 board. I was impressed straight away.
Fps in my games went up on average with 10-15fps, with the gtx 1080ti. My previous i7 6700 couldn't keep up.
Cpu usage is amazing at 30-40% while playing battlefield 5 , dota2 sees a 25-30%.
So in all, great mid chip that performs like a high end chip. - Excellent value - Pieter, 22 September 2019
Upgraded from i7 920!
CPU is great with my RTX 2060.
Weak box cooler, replaced with my old Hyper 212 Black and runs cool now.
Waiting for ABBA bios to see if it can ever boost beyond 4.1 GHZ though. - It just flies - Krakien, 30 August 2019
Bought this to upgrade on my B350 board and compared to my old Ryzen CPU, this flies and eats threads. 4 stars cause the cooler is useless for me.
- Uneatable value for money - Andrei, 29 August 2019
I bought this to build a budget video editing system. This CPU is extremely good value for money! At stock it comes very close to my 8700k OCd to 5GHz all cores in cinebench R20, and it costs way less than what the 8700k cost me including having to pay to get it de-lidded.
For the money you simply cannot beat the 3600, if you are in the market for a CPU to use for content creation then buy this!
The stock cooler is a bit noisy and I found it to be very annoying. So keep that in mind, nothing a after market cooler cannot fix.
I only give 4 stars as I feel that AMD could have included a better stock cooler!
I highly recommend this CPU if you are on a budget! - best purchase ever - Muhammad, 23 August 2019
was gonna buy the 3700x over this but glad i didn't
unfortunately the first chip i received was faulty but wootware swiftly sent a replacement after testing
this cpu demolishes gaming and everyday tasks
paired it with my 1060 6gb but gonna upgrade to a 5700 xt or 2060 super in the near future - My PC is Ryzen up to new levels... - Emile, 20 August 2019
Very happy I went with this processor.
I only upgrade CPU's once every 5 years or so, but I do believe this will last me longer than that as the performance is incredible.
Would definitely recommend this over the 3600X - get an aftermarket cooler and its performance surpasses the X-version for cheaper (depending on your aftermarket cooler's cost of course). - Deserves more the 5 stars - Ruan, 14 August 2019
Its...just...so...powerful.
It run cool even when all 12 cores are in use under the stock cooler.
Its taken apart anything I have tried to throw at it and keeps asking for more.
AMD has come a long way with their Ryzen offering and I will continue to recommend it (even since the days of the 1600) to anyone who will listen.
