The little mini PC (should be called a micro PC) outperformed my wildest expectations. I bought it only for light office work and streaming yet I am amazed as to how many games will run perfectly in 1080p in ultra settings and consumes no more than 12 watts of energy in total.

It is ideal for those who enjoy indie games, 2D games and believe that games from the '00's provided a far better experience than most new games. Four cores and 12 GB RAM provide a very smooth experience overall with the Alder Lake CPU easily being the equal of a sixth gen desktop i5.

If you are a hardcore gamer desiring portable Windows 11 gaming, don't care for anything released after the PS3 era and know you will have access to a TV, monitor or projection screen wherever you go, then the Nucbox G5 97 is ideal. Additionally, 4K video is silky smooth on it, better than many smart TV's.

I only booted up windows to check that it worked and then promptly nuked it and started tinkering. For anyone reading this and intending to use it as a PC, it is probably fine ????

I bought this to replace my 1GB Raspberry Pi 3B. Now I have 4 real cores (x64 is still best, sorry) and 12GB of RAM. Night and day difference especially with transcoding.
I was not going to spend R2600 or so on a Pi 5 8GB when this little beast is only R1k more.

My only complaint is the cooling solution is not good. The NUC was sitting at 85C during my memtest86 run. Completely fine for most usage but I wouldn't want to run it at high load for extended periods.

This little pc is pretty awesome. It performs quite well for it size. I use it primarely for steam remote play and it's perfect. The only thing that worries me is the cpu gets avergares a high temperature when it's working. However other than that I'd buy it again.

Excellent Service as always. Quick - even with a Celeron processor - Running office 2021 and email.
At price and size best replacement for desktop tower.
