8 cores, no HT and therefore less heat leaves some good room for overclocking. I got an adaptive 24/7 overclock of 5 GHz on all cores easily with no AVX offset, safe voltage (< 1.35 at full load) and great temperatures (below 80 degrees at full load) which appears quite common for this CPU if you have a decent off the shelf cooler. When you consider that far more expensive CPU's brag about 5 GHz, this hidden value is not to be missed out on and makes the price of this CPU well worth it.

I'm not going to try and say this processor is the best overall, but for a purely gaming dedicated rig, this CPU is basically as good as it gets. I do not use my PC for anything else so team blue was an easy choice for me. However, if I did use my PC for anything else, I probably would have gone for AMD.

This CPU is a beast at gaming no issues what so ever. Ryzen is cheaper but Gaming Intel FTW

8 core 0 threads, every task every, game at 3440x1440, no problem. Upgraded from a 3960X 6 core 12 Threads.

This thing in your PC is amazing - it does not break a sweat under any normal / gaming loads. CPU intensive engineering workloads nearly gets it to break a sweat.
I like the lack of hyperthreading or security thermal reasons.
