Intel BX8071514700 Core i7-14700 20-Core 5.40GHz Raptor Lake-S Socket LGA1700 Desktop CPU

Having recently upgraded from a 6th generation i7 to the 14th generation i7, that is 4 to 20 cores, all I can say is wow on the multi-core performance improvement. And the power consumption at idle is an impressive 12W. I use a Corsair Nautilus 240 RS ARGB for cooling and did not consider the included Intel cooler a viable cooling solution given the SA ambient temperatures. Using HWMonitor the hottest temperatures I saw was around 75 degrees C on multi-core benchmark runs.

Coming from an i7-8700, this CPU is a beast! However, I had to use the stock cooler for a while since the one I ordered did not fit the case. And damn, is it insufficient! Playing games that are reasonably new will pin it at 95+ degrees and it'll start thermal throttling. While I work in Davinci Resolve, it's sits around 75C and the fan is almost always at 100%

So buy an aftermarket cooler with this CPU!

This was a massive improvement from my previous CPU. It runs amazingly and a huge performance increase. I have had no issues with it so far and performs as expected.
