SteelSeries is known for its quality as a rule, and the Rival 3 is no exception. It came packaged very nicely (no such thing as too much bubble wrap), and the unboxing was easy and fun (SteelSeries nails its unboxing experience).

The mouse is light, which is perfect for games requiring flicky movements, the side buttons are tactile and easy to reach while not being prone to accidental presses (that was a big problem with my previous "off-brand" mouse, and they are excellent for macros, feels really natural to use. The configuration with the SteelSeries Engine app is intuitive and easy to use, and the lighting is quite good for a lower-end gaming mouse.

The only downside to this mouse is the cable. As lots of reviewers agree, the rubbery cable just isn't that great from a user standpoint, and personally, I'd prefer a braided cable. You could probably fix most of the problems associated with the rubber cable by using a mouse bungee, but for now, I'd rather save the money and deal with a slightly desk-gripping cable.

Otherwise, this mouse is excellent and I highly recommend it to everyone.
