- Dont buy this. - Matt, 6 December 2024
This NVME blew when I purchased it, and it was replaced under warranty. You guessed it—the second one blew too. Due to this product, I have lost data twice. My 256GB Kingston drive, although slower, has outpaced this pathetic NVMe tenfold! dont waste your time on this purchase try something else!
- Often overlooked - Faux_Grey, 21 August 2023
Although this drive is an older type of drive, don't overlook the advantages of it having a dedicated DDR4 ram cache. Absolutely something to look for in an OS/Boot drive. The next best thing would definitely be the vortex series.
- Works great - Kyle, 8 November 2022
Having been recommended by a friend and later buying 2 mushkin products, I am very impressed with both price and performance.
Plug and play, no software to fiddle with - Excellent Recommendation - Lance, 8 August 2022
Since I received this product, I have used my Wootbook continuously with this SSD. It remains constantly fast at the same speed of everything I do! Compared to an HDD, this SSD is the way to go...
- its fast - Quinton, 17 April 2022
using it as external storage for pc games and its been working great, ive owned 2 nvme drives which were in the 2000 read 1500 write range and this drives load times is definately faster, once my main build is complete its going in there,
- So far so good - Jean, 23 March 2022
It's been great so far. I've had no issues with the drive itself (although reading MOBO manual about which SATA ports it shares would have saved me a lot of time and tears). Installation was... interesting. First time installing a drive of this type and honestly, would not wish it on my worst enemy -> install it first so you don't have fans and other nonsense blocking your hands while you fiddle with the world's tiniest screw. I hate you, tiny screw (not supplied). Performance has been great! Good value for the price.
- From HDD to this. I love it - Riaan, 17 January 2022
I am very happy finally switching over to this. Enough space for all those games I only play for 20 mins anyways :) Seems pretty quick at the moment! I will likely never go back to hdd. Also, fantastic price!
- Great Drive for a Great Price - Barend, 4 January 2022
Drive was easy to setup and install. Works as advertised with the speeds. My games load super fast compared to my hard disk drive.
- Fantastic value for money - Alexander, 25 November 2021
Fast and efficient service to get a great product. There are plenty of good online reviews and this doesn't disappoint. I would recommend this over the cheaper version for it's speed and lifespan of operations
- Good Value - Barend, 27 July 2021
Good value, performs well. I have not had any issues with it. The unboxing experience is meh, but that's the only negative thing I would say about it, otherwise inside the pc it works really, well. since upgrading from my old Hikvision NVME SSD, my PC has been more responsive and faster overall. Really neat little bargain!
- Great performance at a reasonable price - Marco, 5 March 2021
This drive is definitely good enough in speed for most use-cases, specifically chose it because it's a TLC drive so way better endurance than QLC, so you can use this drive as an OS drive (would avoid QLC as OS).
Latency, responsiveness etc. is all great, use it for quite a few large software projects that I compile code with, so lots of small files as well, definitely great for the price and if you're considering the QLC rocket at about the same price, this one should rather be your choice (the slower random is because it does not have a DRAM cache, but it's misleading in the QLC as only recently read/written will be quick). - Value, performance, reliable - Fritz, 1 March 2021
Best value for money. I do photo and video editing and wanted to buy a Samsung Pro or at a lower budget, the Samsung Evo range due to the drives being able to sustain there write speeds throughout the drive capacity. (WD Black is also a contended as well as the Corsair MP510's).
But these Mushkin Pilot-E drives are so close to the performance of the WD BLK or even the Samsung EVO 970, at such a lower cost that I had to purchase this in stead. (I have been reading up on NVME SSD's for many moons)
Also, I helped a colleague a year ago with a X570 Ryzen 3700 build, and we used a 512GB drive as boot, plus 1TB as working drive. And they have proved to be reliable and fast. I will happily recommend these drives, and will only change my opinion if some of the other drives change in price.
Currently, I am running my Mushkin Pilot-E NVME SSD in a Vantec m.2 to PCI-E adapter as I am still saving up for my own ADM build. But still very impressed even at PCI-E gen 2 speeds. Can't wait till I also have a X570 Tomahawk or similar M/B. - FAST! - Leon, 17 December 2020
Does what is says is does. Speed is right on par with what is stipulated and worth the money spend.
As a budget SSD it is well worth the price. Very impressed. Great service from Wootware, no complaints what so ever. Delivery was quick and kept informed every step of the way. Thank you guys..always a pleasure dealing with Wootware. Keep it up! - Very quick! - Paul, 19 October 2020
Incredible value for money if you consider the space and speed this little SSD offers. I would have liked if Mushkin had an application for upgrading firmware and monitoring the drive usages but that is no deal breaker. Very happy with this drive.
